This is my beloved Honfleur in historically beautiful Calvados dept 14 of Normandie. We make it a must to stop by many times over the years for good reasons already plenty in my blog, Coming to Honfleur is always gratifying with an unique architectural experience and loving history of the locals, hard earned traditions and just a positive feeling all around it. I will put some older personal pictures here in addition to the many posts in my blog on the City, Therefore, hope you enjoy my personal curiosities of Honfleur as I.

The Vieux Bassin or Port a must while in Honfleur so many pictures of it in my blog and stories to write a blog. I leave you with my dear late Dad Elio always taken along with us. Memories forever !!!

The La Maison Bleue restaurant is on a historical place and well manage, we go here for the drinks lately and the view of the old basin port. At the corner of the Vieux Port, 17 quai Saint-Etienne ,Honfleur  it counts among the hangout of locals and regulars who know where they put their feet under the table! It is greeted without fuss at any time of the day, every day of the week, twelve months out of twelve.  The conviviality of the tables on the ground floor and upstairs, with breathtaking views of the old basin, makes this address a postcard.

The Jolie France is a boat ride of 1h30m which will put you with eyes open all the time. Going by the passage of the locks levies, view on the radar, bridge of Tancarville, Le Havre, the heights of Honfleur, the island of birds, and as a final bouquet: the Pont de Normandie. The boat has been replace by the Ville de Honfleur A wonderful ride indeed, recommended,

The Côte de Grâce it must be said that the panorama is worth its weight in gold, subtly revealing its riches, up to the small lighthouse of Fatouville-Grestain, nestled in the greenery. To the right of the bench, a memorial is dedicated to Notre Dame de Grâce, who is said to have protected Honfleur during the Battle of Normandy in 1944. We then go back down to Honfleur by the coast. But before sealing this beautiful walk, you can see, behind the Calvary, a magnificent panorama of the Seine estuary, with the garden of personalities below, Butin beach and Le Havre. The Normandy Bridge completes the picture. Awesome !!!

The Public garden or Jardin Public is on Boulevard Charles V, Honfleur. Along the pier, you can go for a walk in the public garden, created in 1996, also called the Jardin Retrouvé or found garden for its romantic setting and its English style layout. We love as a family and came here often is the Salon Passionnément Jardin which my dear late wife Martine enjoyed very much, You find professionals from the world of the garden such as nurserymen, horticulturalists, landscapers, crafts, furniture, decoration, tools, etc.,will be here on workshops for budding gardeners, advice and know-how shared by enthusiasts and specialists, on-site catering.As well as take home plants. A colorful weekend to celebrate spring, where you can spend a pleasant time with family or friends.

We rented an apartment right up Le Carré des Muse by rue du Puits off Place Sainte Catherine right in the old section , so we can walk all over. I parked my car at the parking de la Môlle (4€ per day!) as known locally past place de la Gare right across literally from the Vieux Bassin . I had the extra job of getting my car up the hilly streets to pickup my father and then drop the car off in the evenings so he can easily move with us. No web but available sur Booking etc,

In another occasion, we were on Le Loft, 11 rue des prés just off Rue de la République and straight towards the Vieux Basin ! Great location nice place we love it came by twice, No web we booked by Booking, etc,

And we rented once a hotel , this was the B&B right at the entrance of the town! in the neighboring city limits of 
La Rivière-Saint-Sauveur! These are good for one or two nights and on my road warrior trips used them often. They call it in Honfleur but is just outside easy in and out to the city and the highway, The official B&B hotel in near Honfleur: https://www.hotel-bb.com/fr/hotel/honfleur
