This time took my road warrior skills to go again to jolly England with the Le Shuttle train service (see post), and my Ford ; a trip of 2043 km or aprox 1269 miles, towing along my good boys and wonderful Rex! It was a very nice trip going into the countryside and seeing several towns of wonderul architecture and history, This one was our home base with a rental apartment/flat and was very spacious and an even better location, we enjoyed it fully, Therefore, let me tell you about the St John the Evangelist Church of Hemel Hempstead !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The St John the Evangelist Church , at Boxmoor founded in 1830, and was chapel of ease to the then parish church of St Mary’s in the old town of Hemel Hempstead was consecrated in 1874 on land purchased from the Box Moor Trust designed in the Gothic Revival style. The church features a Nicholson & Co Ltd pipe organ, which was installed in 2011, There are nine stained or painted glass windows dating from the 19-20C and one window of dalle de verre. A painting of The Last Supper behind the altar is from 1908.
