The Church Saint Justin of Levallois-Perret !!!

I came here first on business and discovered one of the off the beaten path of the Île de France region and just over the Seine river, There were memorable times and of course took the family here too for sights and eat out, there are still many places where they don’t show up at least not much in my belle France. Levallois-Perret is in the Hauts-de-Seine dept 92 of the Île de France region of my belle France. I, once again in my diehard search found me pictures in my cd rom vault that should be in my blog for you and me, Therefore, let me tell you a bit on the Church of Saint Justin of Levallois-Perret !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The Church of Saint Justin is located on Rue Rivay in Levallois-Perret in the Hauts-de-Seine dept 92 of the Île de France region of my belle France. The church, dating from the mid-19C and with an irregular plan based on a Latin cross. It consists of a central nave, divided into four bays, and double aisles with a projecting transept ending in a polygonal chevet. A chapel is attached to the south side wall.

The façade is pierced by a semicircular portal, decorated with arches supported by small columns with capitals. The portal is surmounted by a circular bay. The whole is framed by a semicircular arch supported by twin columns with capitals. The façade is supported by buttresses. The Church of Saint Justin is a massive church with neo-medieval cornices. The bell tower is off-center at the back of the church in the left corner. has a bell tower, square in plan, and three levels. It is pierced by a series of semicircular bays, a triplet of bays, surmounted by an oculus. On the last level, there are twin bays, supported by small columns, and equipped with louvers. The structure is flanked by buttresses. The bell tower is covered by a Fry-type spire, with beveled pavilion edges, then the top of the spire has the shape of an octagonal pyramid. The side walls are pierced by a series of semicircular bays. The arms of the transept are pierced by a triplet of bays. The east nave is covered with a ribbed vault supported by semicircular arches supported by square pillars, decorated with sculpted capitals. The stained glass windows, notably representing Saint Odile and Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, It had a Mutin organ (1914) with 2 manuals. The poor condition of this instrument did not allow for the design of a quality educational and cultural project, it was decided to build a new organ. The aesthetic chosen for the instrument will be Rhenish Romantic.,this was finally done in 2017.

The current Church of Saint Justin is the result of successive enlargements of a first church inaugurated in 1855 ,and Nicolas Levallois laid the first stone on August 9, 1852, A competition was launched in 1869 to erect a new church. The project was postponed by the Franco-Prussian war of 1870, and the church was simply enlarged, which underwent several more works until 1912 , With the churches of Sainte-Bernadette and Sainte-Reine, it belongs to the parish of Saint-Justin of the diocese of Nanterre, erected in 1857. This parish was entrusted to the Communauté du Chemin Neuf in September 1998 at the request of the bishop of the diocese of Nanterre.
