A bit of history I like tell us that Linas during the High Middle Ages had a church dedicated to Saint Vincent. A document of 884 mentions the translation of relics from Saint Merry Church from Paris to Linas. In 936, Louis IV d’Autremer founded the Saint-Merry abbey in Linas. The story of Linas is closely dependent on that of Montlhéry, since the creation in 991 of the castle of Montlhéry, which overlooks and dominates the village of Linas. Linas plays the role of faubourg, beyond the ramparts of the city of Montlhéry and the Porte Baudry. In 1207, the bishop of Paris Odon de Sully wanted to increase worship in the Saint-Vincent church as the church of Linas, dedicated to Saint Vincent, will finally be in Saint Médéric under the name of Saint-Merry, After installing the chapter in Linas. The Commandery of the Hospitallers of the Order of Saint-John in Jerusalem it is possible that the Domaine du Deluge was sold to the Templars and became a commandery detached from the parish of Saint-Wandrille. It possibly passed in the 12C to the hospitaliers and partially rebuilt in the 14C and 17C. In 1311, it was declared ceded to the regular canonial order of the Holy Spulcher by the historic association of Marcoussis. This commandery, which suffered a lot from the wars of the 15C, the provincial chapter which was held in Paris in 1479 made the decision to make it a member of the Hospital Priory of Saint-Jean de Lateran, In 1924 saw the construction of a speed ring of 2.5 km on the territory of the town, then supplemented by a 6.5 km road circuit. Called “Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome”, it will be a high place in automotive, motorcyclist and cycling competition, in France as in the world. The 1,000 -kilometer race in Paris is emblematic of its activities. Between 1925 and 1939, 86% of world records were broken ,From November 1940 to April 1942, the autodrome acts as an internment camp for gypsies and nomads,It is the variant by Orléans of via turonensis (way to Santiago) passed through Linas, coming Longpont-sur-Orge.One of my favorite movies was filmed here Un homme et une femme or a man and a woman from Claude Lelouch released in 1966.

The town of Linas is located in the Essonne dept 91 in the Île-de-France region of my belle France. It is located at the crossroads of the road N20 Paris to Orléans and the Francilienne or N104. It is 9 km from Palaiseau, 1 km from Montlhéry, 5 km from Arpajon, 22 km from Dourdan, 24 km from Etampes,29 km from Milly-la-Forêt, 44 km from Paris, 33 km from Versailles, and 452 km from my current house
Things to see here me think are the City/town hall as it was built in 1846 did not fundamentally differ from the current building, the Abbey Saint-Merry is an abbey dedicated to Saint Merry it was founded in 936 by Louis IV of Outremer.
