The Château de Maupas of Morogues !!!

This one was a while back in my road warrior tours of the valley of the kings of my belle France I, again, found me older paper pictures that should be in my blog, glad to have found them, I have been all over France, but sometimes just touch base ,go on the run and lucky to be able to come back to many, but still work to do. Let me tell you about the Château de Maupas of Morogues  !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I. The Château de Maupas is located in the town of Morogues, in the department of Cher No 18 in the Centre-Val de Loire region of my belle France. It is 23 km from Sancerre, 27 km from Bourges, 47 km from Vierzon, and 504 km from my house. Château de Maupas front c2008 The lordship of Morogues and Maupas first belonged to Henri III of Seuly, Lord of the Aix d’Angillon in 1284, then to the Mathefelon in 1357, then, by marriage, to the Rochechouart, Then, it passed in 1440 to the Mesnil-Simon; by the marriage of Phillipine de Rochechouart with Jean du Mesnil-Simon, Chambellan of Louis XI. Finally , the lordship of Morogues and Maupas was acquired in 1688 by Antoine Agard. Louis XV, by letters patent of March 1725, erected in marquisate the lands, fiefs and lordships of Morogues, Maupas and Parassy under the name of marquisat of Maupas , It has memories of the Duchess of Berry who resided there, as well as king Charles X, her father-in-law and the Count of Chambord, her Son,(duke of Bordeaux, and for a short time king Henri V of France) of whom Auguste Agard de Maupas was the tutor. During the French revolution, the château de Maupas was seized on a descendant of Pierre Agard, emigrated, and sold as national property , It was Lieutenant-Colonel Jérôme Agard de Maupas, who had followed princes in exile in England and Germany, that he will return to regain possession of the land of Maupas. Benefiting from the amnesty of April 1802, he returned to France and bought the Domaine de Maupas and its castle to the Guibert family, who had maintained them perfectly. Currently, the Château de Maupas still belongs to the Agard de Maupas family. Large modernization works on the house in 1866. It is to him that we owe the formatting of the famous collection of earthenware plates in the cage of the staircase of honor. This unique collection in France has another originality: it is only composed almost exclusively of faïences (earthenware). All the pieces in this collection are unique, because decorated by hand, and come from the most prestigious French and European factories: Moustiers, Nevers, Rouen, La Rochelle, Strasbourg, and Delft.
