This time took my road warrior skills to go again to jolly England with the Le Shuttle train service (see post), and my Ford ; towing along my good boys and wonderful Rex! It was a very nice trip going into the countryside and seeing several towns of wonderul architecture and history, This one is a must and the main reason we made this trip for my oldest son bday !!! and, we will be back, eventually, I took some pictures they took a bunch more but these were mine, Therefore, let me tell you about the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
Serving as the backdrop to some of the film series’ most iconic scenes such as the Yule Ball and the Battle of Hogwarts, the Great Hall was first built for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2000 and was used as a key set for seven more films. The spectacular Great Hall includes the costumes of students from each Hogwarts house plus two large tables which are set for dinner; at the top of the room is the teachers’ table where the Hogwarts Professors sat. The Great Hall is home to some of the beautiful hand crafted props created for the Harry Potter film series including Professor Dumbledore’s lectern and the House Points Counter. Though rarely seen on screen, it is rumoured that when the House Points Counter was first built it caused a national shortage of Indian glass beads.

The Dumbledore’s office consisted of not one but three circular rooms, with each room separated by removable ‘wild walls’, allowing cameras to film from various angles. The walls of Dumbledore’s office are decorated with portraits of previous headteachers, and magnificent glass-fronted bookcases display an array of magical artefacts.

Hagrid’s Hut served as the home of Rubeus Hagrid and some of his pets, including Fang, during his years as Hogwarts gamekeeper and later as a teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was also used by other gamekeepers prior to Hagrid’s tenure The hut was a small wooden cabin located outside Hogwarts Castle, on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley were among the Hogwarts students who regularly visited there during Hagrid’s time.

There are one hundred and forty-two staircases at Hogwarts The Grand Staircase, also known as the Moving Staircase, was a massive stairway in Hogwarts Castle, the structure was mainly used to access each floor of the castle, including the dungeons. The staircases led from platform to platform and went as high as the seventh floor, where they came to an end. The stairs also had a knack for moving around the staircase chamber, usually when a student was walking up one of them. There were also many trick stairs that caused the victim to sink through a step and required another person to pull them out. However, it was second nature to most of the older students to jump them.

The Knight Bus is a magical bus driven by Ernie Danlmur and controlled by Stan Shunpike. It is invisible to Muggles. To summon it, one simply has to stand on a sidewalk and wave their wand. It is a purple double-decker bus that travels at 200 km/h (124 mph) through the streets. It has mismatched chairs and armchairs during the day and copper beds at night. As it travels by bouncing from one destination to the next, it is not particularly comfortable.

Arthur Weasley’s Ford Anglia is a blue Ford Anglia 105e Deluxe that has been magically modified to fly and become invisible. It can also carry ten people and six suitcases and doesn’t seem to need petrol. Ron, Fred, and George Weasley borrow their father’s flying car during the summer of 1992 to rescue Harry Potter from Number 4, Privet Drive. They rip the bars off Harry’s window before hoisting him into the car and flying off under the astonished gaze of the Dursleys. Harry and Ron are unable to get past the barrier to Platform 9 ¾, which Dobby has blocked to prevent Harry from returning to Hogwarts. Ron suggests that Harry take the flying car to school by following the train above. Upon arriving at Hogwarts, the car begins to show signs of weakness and crashes into the Whomping Willow. The car then decides to take refuge in the Forbidden Forest.

The Burrow is the home of the Weasleys. The house is built so crazially that it must certainly be held up by magic. It is likely to have once been a farmhouse, on top of which several crooked stories appear to have been added. Currently, the house has six bedrooms and six stories, plus an attic, with a rickety uneven staircase climbing among the stories. Overall, despite the garden gnomes, the old boots and chickens littering the yard, and the ghoul in the attic, the house has a cozy, warm feeling. Harry Potter considers the house brilliant!

The Apothecary’s Shop is a shop located on Diagon Alley, specializing in the ingredients needed to make potions. It is the shop where the trio gets their supplies. Barrels filled with slimy substances line the floor. Jars filled with herbs, dried roots, and glittering powders are arranged on the shelves. Bird feathers, snake fangs, and raptor talons hang from the ceiling. The shop also sells unicorn horns and beetle eyes. The Potions Classroom has over 950 potion jars line the walls of the classroom, each with unique props kept inside them including baked animal bones from a local butcher shop, dried leaves, herbs and shrunken heads made by the props department

A bit on the four Hogwarts houses : Gryffindor House was founded by Godric Gryffindor and favoured students who possessed characteristics such as courage, bravery and determination. The house colours were scarlet and gold, and the emblematic animal was a lion, which decorated the walls of the Gryffindor common room. Gryffindor alumni included all seven Weasley children, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, all four Marauders and Albus Dumbledore. Gryffindor students embraced a long held rivalry with Slytherin house although they were largely friendly with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students.
Ravenclaw House was another of the Hogwarts houses and prized students whose focus was on learning, wit and wisdom. This reflected the nature of their founder, Rowena Ravenclaw who was known to be a woman of remarkable diligence and intelligence. The Ravenclaw common room was decorated with the house colours of blue and bronze along with their eagle emblem. The students were able to study hard in the rooms that were full of tables and bookcases, although if they were unable to solve the bronze knocker’s riddle they couldn’t get in until someone arrived who could!
Hufflepuff House (my house patience, dedication, and loyalty !) was another one of the locations in Hogwarts houses. When exiting the player’s dorm room, going left there is a small chest right inside the doorway to the 6th year room, on the player’s left, that will reward gold. Continuing left, in the second year dorm room, a small chest, against the wall with the centaur, will also reward gold. Heading South on the ground floor of the common room, more dorm rooms can be found. Going right will lead to a 2nd year dorm room, which contains a large chest locked behind a level 1 lock. Continuing counter-clockwise, the third year dorm will contain a large chest locked behind a level 3 lock. The Hufflepuff House Chest, unlocked by tokens earned by finding all 16 Daedalian keys, is located against the wall in front of the ground floor second year dorm.

The Slytherin House located in Slytherin Dungeon. In general, it sported several shades of green and the mantle was adorned with a portrait of a serpent (all associated with the house) The common room was a dungeon-like room with greenish lamps and chairs. This dungeon extended partway under the lake, giving the light in the room a green tinge. The common room had lots of low backed black and dark green button-tufted, leather sofas; skulls; and dark wood cupboards. One of the wooden tables had a Wizard’s Chess set on it. It was decorated with tapestries featuring the adventures of famous Medieval Slytherins., It had quite a grand atmosphere, but also quite a cold one. It was decorated with pumpkins for Hallowe’en at least once in the 1980s
A bit more on the history of this wonderful series film tv books all glorious we love it, In 1994, the James Bond film production team discovered the unoccupied Leavesden. The large, open aircraft hangars seemed particularly well-suited to the needs of the new film, GoldenEye. Eon Productions therefore leased the site for the duration of filming and converted the factories into workshops, offices, and film sets. Leavesden Studios became very popular after the success of GoldenEye, and major feature films followed suit, including the first of the Star Wars prequels, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow. Finally, in 2000, Heyday Films leased the site for the Harry Potter films. Over the next ten years, all the films adapted from J.K. Rowling’s books (including Fantastic Beasts in 2016) were filmed there, as well as other notable Warner Bros. productions. In November 2010, Warner Bros. purchased Leavesden Studios. The site was renamed Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. As part of a redevelopment, Warner Bros. selected two soundstages (“J” and “K”) to house a permanent public exhibition entitled “Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.”
