Curiosities of Troyes !!!

Let me tell you about an off the beaten path City of my belle France , I am glad found me new pictures in my cd rom vaults that should be in my blog for you and me, My dear late wife Martine love shopping and we went all over for it, and took a peek around, The City of Troyes in the dept no 10 of the Aube in the region of Grand Est, and in my belle France,  It is located in the historical and cultural region of Champagne, of which it was the county capital. It is crossed by the Seine. Only 164 km from Paris, 126 km from Reims, 101 km from Épernay , 154 km from Dijon, 182 km from Versailles,and 610 km from my current home, Of course, I came here from Versailles, Therefore, let me tell you about curiosities of Troyes !!!  Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The rue Passerat is so named since 1868 ; it was formerly the rue du Marché-aux-Trapans, It has several half-timbered houses that are different from the majority of typical houses. With bricks replacing the traditional cob, semi-detached half-timbered houses have been restored dating from the 16C, after the major fire of 1524 to the beginning of the 19C. One of the houses on rue Passerat is also notable for its facade covered with wooden tiles such as essentes or shingles, which protects it from the weather see pic from 3 rue Passerat.

The Marché central des Halles ,located at Rue Claude Huez and Place Marché des Halles is the central market in the town, Its a must stop for us with great ambiance and plenty of goodies of my belle France, It brings together around 35 local food shops ; butcher/ delicatessen, greengrocers, fishmongers, bakery/pastry shop, etc. Worth the detour , me think.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
