The Halle or market of Richelieu !!!

I finally came to Richelieu, the town of the Cardinal of France! This is a small but amazing town that needs to be seen; in my road warrior trips always by passed it until now. I took the older pics from other post to create one of its own, deservently so , me think, therefore, let me tell you a bit on the Halle or market of Richelieu !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The town of Richelieu is located in the dept no 37 of Indre-et-Loire in the Centre-Val de Loire region of my belle France. On the borders of Touraine, Anjou and Poitou, the city now borders the department of Vienne no 86 and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Richelieu is located south of Chinon, west of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine in the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Natural Park. In addition, the town of Richelieu belongs to the canton of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, which takes place within the district of Chinon.

The Halle or covered market construction dates back to the origins of the town in the 17C. They were modified in the 19C. A vast restoration project was carried out by the municipality in 2013. It made it possible to redo the roof, consolidate the framework, and restore the original height of the ground. To access it, you have to go through the Place du Marché or market square. The other side of the halle overlooks the Place Louis XIII square.

In 1638, construction of these vast, splendid and impressive halle or market in chestnut wood, 45 meters x 38 meters with 3 naves, 2 slopes, 16 spans .It is one of the most beautiful and important halles in France. They consist of a nave divided into three naves under top of two slopes, and comprising sixteen spans in the central nave, eleven in the side parts, including three spans on the west side and two on the east side, In the 19C in constructions which mask the façades of the Halle. Inside the spans are formed by large spaces made up of posts, crossbowmen, entraints, peaks, and links.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
