I like to take you down to a beautiful area, another one, of my belle France, deep to this off the beaten path village on my road warrior trips. I am updating this older post with new text and links for you and me, Therefore ,here is my take on the main visitor monument the Church Saint Peter’s of Théze ! Hope you enjoy it as I
The Church Saint Peter dates from the 12C. It is remarkable for the volume of its porch tower and its Renaissance portal. It contains objects, paintings and furniture from the times. This was an imposing church . The unique thing about it is that it has a square bell tower with huge counterweight in a double retreat and with a cylindrical tower. It is considered as one of the most original in the region of Béarn.

The Church Saint Peter (Pierre) given for half to Lescar, at the end of the 11C or early 12C. From the 12C church there remain the low parts of the bedside and undoubtedly the structural work of the western elevation. Important transformations took place at the end of the 15C and at the beginning of the 16C undoubtedly following partial destruction . The bell tower-porch houses a Renaissance portal of the second quarter of the 16C. This bell tower-porch, served by a spiral staircase, had to play the role of belfry. It is possible that it was not finished until the end of the 16C. Construction of the sacristy in 1860, the southern aisle in 1866, repair of the bell tower frame in 1902.

Théze is located in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques 64 , in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. It is 25 km from Pau on the historical and cultural level, Thèze is part of the old province of Béarn,(Vic-Bilh) which was also a state and which presents a historical and cultural unit, In 1385, Theze parish was an archimpreted of the diocese of Lescar and constituted a notaria. The remains of two fortified sets of the 11C and 12C, testify to the ancient past of the town. One of the sites, says the la Moutta, is currently wearing a calvary. The dovecote located at its foot is built on the site of the primitive entrance. The 18C gentlehomme Fanget family, had the Château de Fanget, located at the high point of the village and was restored after a long period of ruin to house municipal premises. The town presents a set of 16C to the 20C residences and farms, The town is reach by the N134 ,D44, D944 as well as the A65 exit/sortie Thèze. However, we came from Pau taking the D834 road,
