The Château de Cheverny , part IV !!!

We have driven in the area and would like to have an imprint in my blog on the memorable city of Cheverny of my belle France, There is so much to see , doing my best, and glad found me these older paper pictures which now transposing in my blog for you and me, The pictures are old ,so the quality may not be as good ,but the memories are forever, I have written plenty on this castle but more is always welcome by me ! Therefore, here is my take on the Château de Cheverny ,part IV !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The town and castle of Cheverny is located in the department of Loir et Cher No 41 in the region Centre-Val-de-Loire, in my belle France. It is 65 km from Tours, 67 km from Orléans, 100 km from Bourges, 178 km from Poitiers, 189 km from Versailles, and 419 km from my current house, We went here from Versailles and also, from Pluvigner all wonderful roads easy and parking at the castle.

Another fairy tale château de Cheverny in the valley of the kings or Loire valley.  It is very interesting because its original furniture, and the connection to one of the all time best cartoonist in Europe ,Hergé and the character Tintin, which used this castle as the series castle Moulinsart. The whole family will enjoy it as mine always has, It is still a private castle with a history going back to 1500, the current owner are  Constance and Charles-Antoine de Vibraye , Marquis de Vibraye same family from 1825. The castle was open to the public in 1922.  Worth every minute of it, I assure you.

The Salle d’Armes ,the biggest in the castle with decoration of origin from the 17C, a great wooden chimney and tapestries of Gobelins of the 17C showing events of the war of Troy in Greece. It has a collection of weapons from the 15C to 17C, lots of swords, arquebuses, and vaults of travels from the 17C. It has a covering thread in leather of Cordoba with the arms of France and Navarra that once belongs to king Henri IV and weights 70 kg (about 154 pounds)

You go into the Chambre du Roi or king bedroom, a luxurious room! with decoration of the greatest adventures of romance, painting of Persia and Andromeda, 30 scenes of the tragic loves of Théagéne and Chariclée , 6 tapestries from the 17C with work of Ulyses hero of Odyssée. A huge bed of 2 meters by 1,60 meters ( 6.60 x 5.3 ft) and chairs from Louis XIII, and sofas of Louis XIV with tapestries of Aubusson, The decoration of the Chambre du Roi was entrusted to the most skilful craftsmen and the greatest artists of their time.The ceilings are richly decorated, with Italian-style coffers and paintings again taking up mythological themes. You will also find a kneeler, intended for religious devotions.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
