Curiosities of Blois, part III !!!

In my rounds in the Loire I stop again by Blois, nice beautiful town.  We came here by car from Brittany going around the region and stopping in several towns, We came to Blois from Loches 65 km on the road D764 then left on D62 continue on D114 to connect by the Loire river on the D952 to D202 Bd Daniel Dupuis to right on rue de la Chocolaterie straight to our lodging. The City of Blois is in department no 41 Loir et Cher of the Centre Val de Loire region of my belle France, Therefore, let me tell you about the curiosities of Blois, part III !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

We found the Appart’City Classic Blois at 20 Rue De La Chocolaterie , a great find as usual, located in the city center, between the Loire and the train station, 350 meters from the castle and close to many shops and restaurants. They claim to have 93 apartments furnished and equipped with LCD screens and a kitchen with electric hob, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker or kettle, dishes, dining table and kitchen utensils. From the twin studio to the superior double studio that can accommodate 4 people,as ours, all wonderful great clean efficient friendly staff, we walked all over from it.

We decided as usual by us not too much into hotel food, to eat out breakfast and I located a wonderful bakery pastry shop walking from our apartment, This is the Boulangerie-Pâtisserie Marlau at 10 avenue du Dr Jean Laigret, It is impossible to miss the very colorful facade of this bakery located opposite the train station,(see post) playing on a retro and artisanal side that bears fruit. The house ensures its mission, good country breads made from flours from organic farming, pleasant pastries and good salty snacks for lunch.

This is a modern bakery, with its high tables and its counter with bay windows, is the perfect place to stop before exploring the city in a more reasonable way. You can have a coffee, indulge in croissants (including an exquisite raspberry variety), indulge in a pain au chocolat et aux amandes,(almond chocolate bread), a bostock or a kouign amann. Richard Gressent, has dedicated his house to his two children, Marceau and Laurine. He offers a wide variety of organic breads and brioches of all kinds. Crispy baguettes, ficelles, sandwich bread, Lodève bread, buckwheat, brioche, spelt, rye or raisin bread are easy to please everyone. A lovely welcome as well, Very nice indeed a find, we will be back eventually.
