Curiosities of Rome !!

These are two wonderful building with nice architecture which I like and walked by them took a picture and now is a good time to update this older post with new text and links for you and me. I like to tell you about a Justice and a Health clinic in Rome that I walked by and enjoy their silhouettes, Therefore, these will be on curiosities of Rome !! Hope you enjoy it as I. I walked by the Policlinico and even got off at the metro station of same name there on our way to our apartment ; just out into the street to do some walking we love. This health hospital or policlinico took our fancy. It is located in the Quartiere San Lorenzo neighborhood ;the Policlinico Umberto I of Rome is the polyclinic of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Sapienza Università di Roma. The second largest public hospital in Italy. Its construction was promoted by Italian doctors and polititians in 1883 and completed 20 years later. The opening was presided by rector Luigi Galassi and by Umberto I of Italy, after whom it is named. It is served by the Policlinico Metro station. roma-policlinico-main-ent-aug13 Today the hospital complex, from an urban point of view, can be assimilated more to a large neighborhood than to a hospital: it consists of 46 buildings located inside the Umbertine walls, to which are added 8 external structures. The perimeter of the main complex is over two kilometers and the connection between the pavilions and services of the Policlinico Umberto I of Rome, is intended pursuant to art. The Palace of Justice or Palazzo di Giustizia is the seat, in Rome, of the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation, of the council of the Bar Association of Rome and of the central legal library The palace is in the rione de Prati district, on the banks of the Tiber river, opposite the Umberto I Bridge, east of the Castel Sant’Angelo (see posts). The building was built from 1888 to 1910.The architecture of the building, whose plan is a quadrilateral of 170 meters by 155 meters, is inspired by the Renaissance and Baroque styles. The facade overlooking the Tiber is surmounted by a large bronze quadriga posed in 1926; 10 large statues of notable jurists adorn the ramps in front of the main facade and the interior courtyard. I am a lover of travels to Europe , Americas , Africa and Asia as well ,who like to share my experiences of the last 53 years with the world, visiting so far 81 countries; living in 6, working in 5, and Citizen of 4, speaking fluently 4 languages. I can deal with sports especially football/soccer and love music, arts, wine collector/drinker, and go out to restaurants, and just visit the world. My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
