My duo of Cathedrals of France !!!

I again found me some older paper pictures that should be in my blog even if quality may not be the best, These are some one of the magnificent monuments of my belle France. They were left out in my road warrior mode but glad found them, Anyway these are in Beauvais, Chartres ,and Sens and cathedrals to boot ! Do read my full post on them in my blog ok, Therefore, let me tell you about my duo of Cathedrals of France !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I I like this so for information, Beauvais is in the Oise dept 60 of the Hauts de France region, Chartres is in the Eure-et-Loir dept 28 of the Centre-Val de Loire region, Sens is in the Yonne dept 89 of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region ; all in my belle France, of course !.  The Saint-Pierre Cathedral of Beauvais has the highest Gothic choir in the world at 48.50 meters under vaulted ceilings. From 1569 to 1573, the cathedral was with its 153-meter tower the tallest human construction in the world. Its designers had the ambition to make it the largest Gothic cathedral in France ahead of that of Amiens. Victim of two collapses, one in the 13C, the other in the 16C, it remains unfinished today, only the choir and the transept have been built!  The oldest glass roof, in the axial Notre-Dame Chapel, dates from 1240. It represents a tree of Jesse and a story from the legend of Théophile. The stained glass in liters of the 14C shows that the chloride and silver sulphide introduced in the technique made it possible to illuminate hair, haloes and various ornaments. At this time in the high windows, is located in the central bay, Christ on the Cross accompanied by the Virgin, on the left window, Saint-Pierre and Saint-André and the right one, Saint-Jean and Saint-Paul. During the Renaissance, from 1491, one of the greatest dynasties of French stained glass, the Leprince family took over the work and adorned the two facades of the transept with roses, while their leader, Engrand Leprince, created a large glass roof. Work on it began in 1120, but the biggest construction period took part from 1194 to 1260.  It is about 131 meters long by 46 meters wide with a general dimension of 5 200 square meters; at the transept it is 63 meters and the nave height is 37 meters and a width of 16 meters!  The main façade 30 meters long has 719 statues depicting the life of Jesus most of them of Roman style. The central window and highest has a rosary  of 11,5 meters a fine gallery of the 13C with niches of 15 grand statues of kings with a space with a statue of the Virgin and on top a colossal praying Christ . The tympan on the trinity are just gorgeous as in picture.
