Union Square shopping mall in Ho Chi Minh City !!

I admit not a great shopper myself, but the locals encouraged me to come here as was close to my hotel and walking is the magic word for me once in town. So I let my legs do the walk ,a bit and saw beautiful French style architecture on the main square near city hall and then the shopping mall !  I have several posts on Vietnam but let me update this older post with new text and links for you and me, Therefore, here is my take on the grand shopping at Union Square Shopping Mall in Ho Chi Minh City !! Hope you enjoy the post as I. hcmc-union-square-side-corner-mar16 Union Square was originally a new part of Vincom Center A, the shopping mall across the street, but was later sold and is now an independent shopping mall in a prime location. The mall is home to a wide range of foreign luxury brands as well as a mix of everyday brands from Vietnam and beyond. Right on the corner diagonally from the French inspired city hall, you have the shopping center. Union Square Shopping Mall houses a wide range of designer brands, both local and international alike. Set within District 1, this upmarket shopping mall occupies a massive French colonial building and is fitted with luxurious interiors, broad halls, marble tiles, and European-style décor. Attracting a steady mix of affluent travellers, locals, and expats, luxury brands available here include Dior, Hermes, Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Lauren, Versace and Dior, some of which offer relatively attractive promotions from time to time. However, don’t expect real bargains as it’s one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most high-end shopping venues. hcmc-union-square-store-directory-mar16 Open daily, Union Square Shopping Mall is within a five-minute walk from the Saigon Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the city hall. It’s also flanked by the famous shopping street of Dong Khoi and the popular Nguyen Hue walking promenade, making it a popular spot for dining and shopping after a day of sightseeing in Ho Chi Minh City. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
