A castle and a home at Antilly !!!

The village of Antily is located in the department of the Oise 60 in the Hauts-de-France region of my belle France. It is 32 km from Senlis ,83 km from Beauvais, 89 km from my home of Versailles and 29 km from Meaux , the native town of my dear late wife Martine, It has last noted only 273 people, it is crossed by the route RD 922 and is easily accessible from the national road N2, My blog as said, is my life’s history and this is part of it, I like to tell you about a castle and a home at Antilly !!! Hope you appreciate this post as I.

The reason I came here was to see the place where the maternal grandmother Fourré of my wife Martine and who raised her since the lost of her father Pierre at age 10 was put into a convalescent retirement home for her last months, We asked her to come with us but she refuse and the local family non volunteer to take her in, She lasted 8 months in the retirement home at EHPAD Antilly 2 rue du chateau created in 1983 in the former Château des Fères Blancs, I found these pictures and out of memories for a nice lady even to me, I put up this memorable post for the memories of always, I called her grandma too, She is buried at the cemetery of Meaux with her husband/grandpa Georges as well as Pierre, and we have visited too.

The Antillly cemetery is located in the rear right of the municipal cemetery of Antillly, This military plot consists of two rows of tombs, which have 35 burials of soldiers of the Great War or WWI, All the soldiers buried in this place fought during the second battle of the Marne, on the occasion of the Offensive of the Ourcq, in the Ferté Milon sector. All the soldiers died, between June 14 and July 17, 1918, at the 4/53 Hospital in Antilly located in the grounds of the Château des Fères Blancs d’Antillly, a place to date transformed into a retirement home. The 208th RI alone represents the most affected unity among the people buried in Antillly (9 victims).

In the Middle Ages, the lordship was in the fief of the castle of Crépy-en-Valois, The one thing to see here is the Saint-Maurice-et-Saint-Léonard Church is from the 16C, partly on a base of the 11C. In the 16C, the nave was done,, a new choir built, as well as the bell tower. From the same time, the stately chapel dates from armorized key and tombstones of the Billy family, and an 18C wooden altar, The City/town hall is at 2 place de l’église.
