My fav restaurants in México City !!!

I have been coming to Mexico City since 1994 and family living. All memorable visits with many restaurants over the years ,even some forgotten; however, will put the ones that brings the my memories flashing with new pictures not yet in my blog. This is my treat on the Mexican cuisine, one of the best in the world. I had repeated good experiences at the steakhouse Angus Butcher House, Copenhage 31 ,this branch is closed but will always be in my fond memories, They do have other branches in the city. One very popular all over and why not in Mexico City are the TGI Fridays , yes very original , I remember this resto from back in USA and love them. Found them here with a nice big burger and try Victoria and Pacifico beers !! The Sanborns,is a chain very popular in Mexico, my old firm used to sell to them and we of course stop there many times to eat and also to buy essentials electronics. Always had a wonderful time eating , Always had a wonderful time eating at the Peña Pobre mall, by Av. Insurgentes sur y Av. San Fernando , Another for good food and shopping is Centro Insurgentes at Avenida Insurgentes Sur 1605 , there you have a wonderful Sanborn’s cafeteria, and the Italian Antica Toscana; in Sanborns you have a shopping store with gifts and accessories. The Gran Leon de Oro restaurant on calle Mercaderes off Insurgentes Sur is wonderful, very business like and refine, service superb and the food delicious, great tacos con lechon (roast pig) and Victoria beer. VIPS cafeteria chain, the one at Insurgentes Sur 1581 and Calle Mercaderes is very nice indeed. I ate there several times lunch and dinner there as it was near my hotel. And it reminded me of the times had it in my Madrid! webpage: https://vips.com.mx/

The Avenida Popocatepetl is name after the famous volcano.. The Jewel, in the famous Paso de Cortés which connects the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, from where the conquistador Hernán Cortés and his men saw the Mexican Valley for the first time on the way to Tenochtitlán (today Mexico City).! Another great center that I have stayed next to it is the Patio Universidad shopping mall. Nicely located in Calle Popocatepetl 546 corner with Avenida Universidad. Here there is a range of restaurants very nice and compact such as IHOP for great breakfasts;  the Best Buy of old favorite store, El Bajio great local food restaurant, old favorites such as Olive Garden and TGIFridays (closed) and very clean spacious lobby area. I am a lover of travels to Europe , Americas , Africa and Asia as well ,who like to share my experiences of the last 53 years with the world, visiting so far 81 countries; living in 6, working in 5, and Citizen of 4, speaking fluently 4 languages. I can deal with sports especially football/soccer and love music, arts, wine collector/drinker, and go out to restaurants, and just visit the world. My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
