This was an area near my old home that I frequented with the family for shopping, and my boys school friends activities. This is my rendition to the City of Plaisir. The City of Plaisir is located in the Yvelines department 78, in the Île-de-France region of my belle France. It is 30 km from the Porte d’Auteuil Paris, and 13 km from Versailles, The town is made up of several hamlets spread over two separate trays, from east to west, by the Bois-d’Arcy national forest ,and its western end known as forest of the Cranne and, the Park of the Château de Plaisir, and the forest of Sainte-Apolline. I found me a picture and decided to mention this City in my blog of nice memories of always in my former department area, Therefore, this is Plaisir !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I

The town of Plaisir is served by the national road N12 (Paris-Brest), via Dreux ,my usual way lately coming from Brittany. It is crossed in a North-South axis by the D30 road which links Poissy and Feucherolles to the north at a place called Gâtines and prolonged to the south towards Élancourt and Saint-Quentin- En-Yvelines by the D58 road. This is the one taken when lived in Versailles, The Plaisir train station – Les Clayes, and the bus no 100 of the Bus network in Poissy – Les Mureaux. The train never but the bus was taken couple times by my sons to see friends as they lived in Plaisir and went for birthdays celebrations as well as by car with the parents.
Some of the things to see in Plaisir are : The Château de Plaisir, which dates from the 17C and was bought by the town in 1976. The Saint-Pierre Church in Romanesque style, built between 1260 and 1263, was restored between 1855 and 1859, The church shelters three bas reliefs, one of the 16C in stone, the other two of the 18C in sculpted wood as well as a statue of virgin and the child of the 14C in stone, The priory, small manor sheltering the City/town hall since 1971, has been built at the end of the 19C on the site of a Benedictine priory, recalled by a Latin phrase on the top of the entrance gate: “HIC Fait Benedictorum Prioratus” (here, there was a priory of Benedictines). The Robert-Manuel Theater, formerly Théâtre de la Grange, has 178 seats and is located in the commons of the Château de Plaisir.
A bit of history I like tell us that the land here became the property of the Abbey of Saint-Denis in 768. The construction of the priory dates from the 8C and the Saint-Pierre Church in the middle of the 13C, The territory entered the royal domain by the marriage of François I with Claude de France. In 1537,it had the stronghold of Neauphle-le-Château, -Plaisir in favor of his mistress, Anne de Pisseleu, From the 1960s, Plaisir underwent an explosion of urbanization, attributed to the creation of the new city of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (see post), On the legal level, at a time attached to Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, it will leave the new city in 1983 by yielding the Cléf-Saint-Pierre in Élancourt and Trappes,
