I flew to Cebu, really my center base there and of course did went into the shopping malls including the best me think ,the SM city mall , great shopping and food here The SM City Cebu shopping mall is the 7th largest shopping mall in the Philippines. It has a land area of 11.8 hectares and a gross floor area of 268,611 m2 (2,891,300 sq ft). The mall opened in November 1993. SM City Cebu is a seven-level complex namely lower ground floor, upper ground floor, second floor, third floor, fourth floor, fifth floor, and roof deck featuring a total of eight cinemas with seven regular cinemas and one IMAX theater with a total seating capacity of 5,812, a food court, a fully computerized bowling center, 8,000-square meter amusement center, and a 2,000-square meter trade hall. And yet another one in Mandaue City , just over from Cebu. It was the J Centre , now part of SM malls since January 31, 2023, the new name, SM City J Mall, It was the newest mall there and tried by yours truly first! It is located at 165 A.S. Fortuna Street, Bakilid, Mandaue City. One of the few malls in the area that has a movie theater and sm supetmarket. It opened on November 11, 2011, along with several of its anchor stores. It has over 200 boutique stores and restaurants that provide ample options for the avid shopper and meticulous diner. One of its anchor stores is SM Hypermart, which is a business entity operating under the SM Group of Companies brand as seeing above. A pleasant experience indeed plenty of choices. No web yet but here is a site on malls in the Philippines on the old J Centre Mall: https://mallphilippines.com/j-centre-mall-cebu/

One briefly passed by but not entered was the Ayala Center Cebu a large shopping mall owned by Ayala Malls at the Cebu Business Park in Cebu City, Philippines. It is the first Ayala mall located outside of Metro Manila. It opened in November 1994, The mall also added over 200 stores in its four-level retail expansion and a condominium called Park Point Residences In 2015, a new office building, called Ayala Center Cebu Tower, was opened on top of the west entrance of the mall. It accommodates business process outsourcing (BPO) offices, and its podium is andchored by a three-level store of fashion retailer, H&M. In 2016, another condominium in the complex, named The Alcoves, was launched. It was built at the original main entrance of the mall. Ayala Center Cebu will undergo a major re-development in the first quarter of 2024, set to be completed in 2026. Part of the three-year re-development project is to renovate the mall’s interior, enhance the mall’s common areas, parks and garden, elevate entertainment and dining facilities, strengthen merchant mix with flagship stores, more first-in-Cebu and exclusive concept stores

Another one was briefly the Parkmall, one of the newest ones there. The Parkmall opened its doors in 2008, located in the heart of Mandaue City, a next door city to Cebu. The parkmall has a two-level mall at its centerpiece a sprawling property of lush, landscaped parks. Along the facade of the mall is the longest stretch of outdoor dining in Cebu. Parkmall’s wide variety of cuisines from around the world nestled right beside the gardens makes it Cebu’s al fresco dining destination.
