Curiosities of Manila, part II !!!

And here I am going far again, to a place that I was lucky to visit on several occasions over the years 2012 to 2018, and always great memories of places and friends, I have found some pictures not in my blog and they should be, This is Asia and this is the Philippines. Let me tell you about the curiosities of Manila, part II !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I

The city of Manila is one of the 16 cities of the metropolitan area of Manila, one of the most populous in the world. The latter, located on the west coast of Luzon Island, is the National Capital Region (NCR or Metro Manila), and is not part of any province in the country. It is located on the east bank of Manila Bay. I always arrived by the Ninoy Aquino International Airport located 8 km southeast of the city center. There are Terminal 1 (1982) 2 ,primarily Philippines Airlines , and funded by France(1999) ,3 primarly Cebu Pacific Airlines (2008 partial fully 2014) ,there is a terminal 4 for general aviation, I cannot tell you about the connection and they are plenty because I was always picked up by locals and drove into the City.  Pic below is on my way to the airport, and avoid the traffic!manila airport driving airport nov18

My hotel and main base there was the City Garden Grand Hotel in the Makati business district of Manila. A very nice and central hotel that took me walking to several places, Convenient, friendly service, good deal, I would stay here again, Pic below from top floor of hotel!

The business district of Makati CBD, one of Southeast Asia’s biggest financial hubs, and noted for its cosmopolitan cultural and entertainment ambiance around the huge complex of the Ayala Center, and  the Ayala Triangle Gardens. Also, the wonderful Ayala Malls and especifically in the Greenbelt malls 1 thru 5. There is a great Ayala museum with great exhibits and cultural awareness,

The Santo Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel is in Greenbelt Park at the complex’s Malls center. Built as an open-air, concrete dome in the middle of a pond, the chapel holds Masses and other religious services every day for mall patrons and office workers. It celebrates its titular feast day every third Sunday of January.

While there, had some night time entertainment and one of the places taken was the  Road House Manila Bay,and it was rocking live with a good band and friendly nice service. The band was Spank Me Regor and was again very good indeed worth going back for them, very nice vocals music from the 80’s!
