The Gros Horloge of Rouen is on a Renaissance arch spanning the rue du Gros-Horloge surmounted by an astronomical clock from the 14C.  Tour du Beffroi, On the double Renaissance dial, the single hand points to the hour. Under the number VI, the divinity which symbolizes the day of the week appears, at noon, on a triumphal chariot. Above the dial a globe indicates the phases of the moon. Sheep everywhere remind us of the importance of working with wool. The Easter lamb, represented in the center of the arcade, symbolizes the arms of the city. The museum allows you to see the watchmaker’s workshop, the bells, the weights, the machines, the dome. The different exhibition rooms are related to the building and the history of Rouen. The upper platform offers a panorama over the rooftops of the city and Notre-Dame Cathedral. Awesome !!

The Château-Musée de Dieppe is a seaside castle now a museum. It was built to defend the city by monitoring the coast of the English Channel. It is built on the edge of the western cliff, about thirty meters above the water level. The Castle Museum of Dieppe has sixteen rooms offering very rich collections, with having an exhibition of one of the richest collections of ivory objects and sculptures of France. A marine collection on three rooms is devoted to the sea with objects, and paintings, and a background of 15,000 to 20,000 letters retraces the correspondence of the composer Camille Saint-Saëns. The museum is not outdone with regard to painting, since it offers works of painters of the 20C such as Dufy, Van Dongen, Braque, Lotiron, among others and Impressionist painters like Renoir, Sisley, and Pissaro. You will also discover beautiful maps from the famous cartography school of Dieppe, models of traditional boats, paintings of the great European schools evoking the maritime adventure of the city and its port, since the time of the great ships expeditions of the 16C to 20C.

The City of Bayeux is from the department 14 of Calvados and the Normandy region,It has been headquarters of bishopric since the 4C and a viscounty of the time of the Duchy of Normandy until 1749. Bayeux is 7 km from the Côtes de la Manche coast of the landing invasion beaches, and 30 km from Caen. The Notre-Dame Cathedral at rue du Bienvenu is an essentially novel and Norman Gothic style, it is part of a remarkably preserved episcopal set. It has kept the Bayeux tapestry for several centuries. During the French revolution, new looting intervened in 1790, then the cathedral became a temple of reason. The picture is from the gardens of the Hôtel du Doyen a former Bayeux mansion, used as an episcopal palace by the bishops of Bayeux, then Bayeux and Lisieux during the Condordat.
