And I arrrive in the state of Jalisco ! By the airport of Guadalajara, and went to San Juan de los Lagos to visit the Basilica Church of San Juan de los Lagos , State of Jalisco, The basilica is after Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta,the largest tourism registered in the state of Jalisco. It is considered the most important tourist center of the area because it is the second point of attraction for the religious tourism of Mexico (after Guadalupe in CDMEX) and one of the main Marian shrines in Latin America, since here is one of the images venerated by the Catholics faithful. In 1990, Pope John Paul II came as a pilgrim and offered Mass to a crowd of six million!

I ,also, went south to the state of Quintana Roo and town of Bacalar where I saw the wonderful Cenote Azul , the darkest of the four cenotes there, it sinks abruptly, without warning, to a depth of 90 meters with 182 meters in diameter. The cenote itself, the hole, is about 30 yards away, where the water suddenly darkens. You will  discover stromatolites. It looks like blocks of stone, it’s hard as a rock, but it’s alive. Rest assured, they will not bite your toe as their only movement is to grow 0.4 millimeters per year! Cenote Azul is crystal clear and good for diving when the Caribbean is too rough. Because the water is so clear you can easily see quite deep. It is the largest and supposedly the deepest Cenote in the State of Quintana Roo, part of the Yucatàn peninsula, While there had a wonderful lunch while watching a football/soccer game, and really this is heaven around you of natural beauty and the food and cold beers was great; a must.

The Belize Princess Casino is a five star hotel that accommodates 190 sea view rooms, Olympic size swimming pool, bars, restaurants, fitness and massage centers. Being the biggest amusement and resort centr in Belize. I was here briefly at the Casino bar for drinks with friends.

And continue our journey south to Brazil , state of Minas Gerais and the City of Varghina and stayed at a wonderful hotel restaurant there! The hotel was the Hotel Café Royal right in city center near the University campus and much more lively.  This was a very nice hotel, good space rooms and good service as well as a great restaurant with glass windows views of the city.

 There you go folks, a road warrior and airplane trip of nostalgia from my trips in the  Americas. The wonders of the Americas that still rings a bell to my ears on each stretch of meter I take on this world. Again,hope you enjoy the post of curiosities of the Americas , Part V as I.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
