The Galleria Borghese museum of Rome !!!

I arrived in Rome with the family, finally. After several business trips and telling them of the opportunities to see here , they wanted to come. Therefore, I obliged and took them all here by airplane Nantes, Roissy CDG, and  Rome’s Fiumicino. It was a very nice family trip and we packed a lot of sights into it. I have written plenty on the sights of this trip in my blog but as usual this road warrior guy forgets things and have pictures and sights not yet documented in my blog, Therefore, let me tell you about the Galleria Borghese museum of Rome ! The Villa Borghèse  (see post) is a municipal park of 80 hectares or about 198 acres in Rome.  It has a large group of buildings on the cultural nature as well as museums, The whole of the Villa Borghese was finished in 1633 . The current gardens dates from the 19C and done in the English style. The park was purchased by the Italian government in 1901 and given to the city of Rome in 1903 to be open to the public.

The Galleria Borghese, is a museum exposing great work of art going back in time from the collection of Cardinal Scipione Borghese. The casino ,the main building of the villa, has lost most of the stucco decoration which framed ancient statues and reliefs. In 1807, Prince Camillo Borghese sold or was invited to sell to Napoleon I his brother in law, the collection of antiquities which decorated the interior and exterior of the building.

The Galleria Borghese includes one of the world’s largest private art collections of Cardinal Scipione Borghese. A museum collection occupying twenty rooms made up of antiques, sculptures and numerous paintings. You will find in this gallery various well-known works of art, mainly dating from the Renaissance; the museum thus has the statues of “Apollo and Daphne” by Bernini and paintings by Caravaggio, Rubens, Leonardo da Vinci and Sanzio Raphael.You will always have to make your reservation online. The metro station is located in front of the main entrance to the Villa Borghese park in Piazza del Popolo. You can also access the park via the Spagna metro station, located near the Spanish Steps.

Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
