Curiosities of Vianden !!!

I left out some interesting pictures from my posts on Vianden and they should be in , me think, Always memorable to write about Luxembourg, of many trips with the family with my dear late wife Martine. The family discussions on where to go was lively, and I always gather the votes to go to Luxembourg City !! However, the family had its hearsays and we decided to go elsewhere in the country and so we went to Vianden, There is a beautiful castle , and many other things (see posts), I like to tell you here about the curiosities of Vianden , Hope you enjoy it as I.

An old 18C residence contains the Bakery Museum, the History Museum of the City of Vianden and the Rustic Art Museum which brings together very beautiful furniture and objects from daily life of the time. Additionally the visitor can enjoy a lively presentation on the life of the national poet Edmond de La Fontaine, called “Dicks”. The museum of the City of Vianden allows visitors to immerse themselves in historical and cultural atmospheres. Supported by musical installations, he has the opportunity to contemplate images and objects which will bring him closer to Vianden and its history, its inhabitants, its crafts, its humor. The Rustic museum,displays arts and crafts of a bygone age. The latter museum has exhibits of old toys and dolls.

The barriers on the river lower basin and upper to mont Saint Nicolas, and the underground installation of the pump central of Vianden to avoid flooding or provide electricity   With a power of 1,300 MW, this power plant is one of the largest in Europe. There is a natural park that should be pretty nice for those with more time and the forests,We did some but mostly when car allowed ; this is huge but should be beautiful so posting info here for the interest of all, It is located at the tripoint between Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg. Covering an area of 306 km2 , seven cities have joined forces to reconcile the protection of nature and the economic development of the region. The member cities are Clervaux, Kiischpelt, Parc Hosingen, Putscheid, Tandel, Troisvierges and Vianden. Alongside countless tourist office walking trails and national and international hiking trails, there are thematic trails that allow you to discover the unique nature and landscape of the Our (river valley) Nature Park. Apart from the national cycle paths, the park also offers two cycle routes. Two Nordic walking parks, one around Vianden and the other near Clervaux, offer more than 70 km of trails, spread over eight routes of varying degrees of difficulty. At the Vianden adventure park, you can take advantage of the 60 climbing stations to discover the forest from another perspective. The Our Nature Park is a region rich in castles: for example Vianden Castle, (see posts) one of the best preserved medieval castles in Europe, which sits solemnly above the Our. A fascinating view is also offered by the Clervaux castle. It now houses the exceptional photo exhibition The Family of Man by famous photographer Edward Steichen. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
