Curiosities of Prague, part III !!

I go to the old East and now up and coming area for visitors with plenty to see and do, I found me again pictures not in my blog and they should me think, Do read my other posts on it, Therefore, here is some spots in the Czech Republic and Prague in particular, Let me tell you about the curiosities of Prague, part III !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

In Prague ,most of the markets run from March to November. In the winter season, only some of the marketplaces are open, with a limited offering. The one in Namiski square was very animated when I was there, and I love these markets anywhere !

Jan Hus, religious reformer immolated for his opinions at the Council of Constance, in 1196, The central figure of Master Hus is surrounded by a group of statues symbolizing « the fighters of God » inaugurated in 1915, was the opposite of the Catholic symbol represented by the column Baroque Marian church which was located in the center of the square The memorial is an imposing rock, can’t missed it.

The Štorch’s House  is located on the Old Town Square . The building was built in Renaissance style decorated with frescoes and portraits from the end of the 19C representing Saint Venceslas on a horse, The current Štorch’s house was built in 1896-1897 for publisher Alexander Štorch in Gothic style. The frescoes depict Jan Amos Komenský, the writing monk, the coat of arms of the Czech Kingdom, the coat of arms of the capital city of Prague, a stork as Storch’s emblem and others. Above the entrance is a statue of the Madonna, around the bay window are statues of the evangelists. The house burned down during the Prague Uprising in 1945 and was restored in 1948. Further modifications took place in 1972, 1986-1987 and 1993.

The EkoExpress little train departs from the Old Town square every half an hour between the Jan Hus statue and Cartier jewellers , The tour is almost 10 km long and it takes you around Prague’s most stunning historical monuments. The Prague Airport Shuttle between Prague-Ruzyne Airport and the center of Prague by V Celnici Street operates daily from 7h30 to 19h every 30 minutes. Travelers can board in front of the arrival halls: Terminal 1, exit F and Terminal 2, exit E. The Prague airport shuttle is provided by the CEDAZ company using comfortable air-conditioned buses with seats for everyone. Indeed a very nice ride. The Nadrazi train station has a wonderful stop for tramways line C , The tramway network has 135 km of tracks and 22 lines daytime and 9 lines nighttime, The tramway line 91 is a touristic tram that works during weekends and holidays between 12h and 17h from March to November,

The D1 motorway is the main highway of the Czech Republic. Currently it connects the two biggest Czech cities, Prague and Brno;  It is 366 km (227.4 mi) long

The wonderfully nice Benzina Stop Café 2.0 is the biggest network of service stations in the Czech Republic. We stopped here somewhere on the D1 highway,

The VIVA service stations is along the D1 expressway as well going out from Prague The coffee comes from the renowned traditional roaster Gimoka in Italy, near Lake Como, where they have been roasting coffee with enthusiasm and passion for more than 30 years. This is a nice rest stop and glad we did stop here after a long car drive from the Czech Republic to Slovakia,
