Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The town of Caudry is located in the département 59 or Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France of my belle France. Caudry shares with Calais the title of the world Capital of Lace of Calais design to go into high fashion garments. The town is ,also, named City of Occupations and Arts in 1995. It is located about 14 km from Cambrai, and 62 km from Lille , 9.5 km from Cateau-Cambrésis, 28 km from Valenciennes and 32 km from Saint-Quentin. It is south of the D643 road, ( old N43) that links Cambrai with Charleville-Mézières.
The Musée de la Dentelle of Caudry is located in the Théophile and Jean-Baptiste Carpentier lace factory, whose brick buildings dating from 1898, restored and modernized by the addition of a glass roof, are typical of the architecture industrial of the last century. Through its collections, the museum traces the history of the manufacturing of tulle, lace and mechanical embroidery in the Caudry region. It also organizes temporary exhibitions and educational workshops for children.

The Caudry Lace Museum, also called the Caudrésian Lace and Embroidery Museum, is a museum dedicated to the history of an artisanal activity which brought prosperity to the town from the beginning of the 19C. The museum, preserves and promotes the mechanical Leavers lace made in Caudry, a living heritage, while evoking the other textiles of the region: weaving, tulle, guipure and embroidery. Focused on contemporary creation, the museum is also a creative laboratory which organizes partnerships between lacemakers and young creators in an approach of support and innovation.

On the ground floor, a video projection is offered retracing the history and technique of the lace industry in Caudry ; the visit of the workshop with the machines representing the different stages of manufacturing is offered to you free of charge or as a guided tour upon reservation for groups with the demonstration of the “leavers” machine in operation by a professional lace tull maker . Upstairs, a temporary exhibition renewed every four months takes you behind the scenes of Haute Couture, through different themes dealing with the finished product in lace, tulle and embroidery.
Some who fancy the good were dresses done for President Bill Clinton’s inauguration, Ets Bracq produced the fabric for Hillary Clinton’s dress; The designer Peter Soronen from Chicago is responsible for creating a series of clothes for the inauguration ceremony of President Barack Obama, he orders from Bracq SAS laces a particular fabric in polyamide flowered lace, For the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William, a special request was made to the Caudry Lace Museum to integrate lace patterns into the princely wedding dress.
