Cravinhos and Ribeirao Preto of Brazil !!!

I have several posts on Brazil and its cities and for some reason these two were given little coverage ! As it is part of my dots on the world map , I decided to give it a post of its own. The towns of Cravinhos and Ribeirão Preto are inland Sao Paulo State of Brazil. Therefore, let me tell you a bit more on them for you and me.  Hope you enjoy the post as I

In 1876, the Cravinhos farm was bought by the Querino brothers because it is a fruitful region for coffee planting. The red dirt on the land here was a magnet from families from as far as Rio de Janeiro to settled here and cultivate the coffee of wonderful aroma we can see and taste today .The name Cravinhos comes from the Cravina flower ,the fact that on such a farm there was a plantation of  small carnations; which were found in large quantities at the Cravinhos Farm beds and in the region. In 1893, Cravinhos was created as a district in the town of Ribeirão Preto. It was dismembered from Ribeirão Preto in 1897, and installed the following year as a coffee village.

Little Cravinhos , is located 18 km from the bigger town of Ribeirão Preto and 296 km from the big capital city of São Paulo. I came here by car on the road SP-330 of the State of Sao Paulo. Passing visiting the real countryside and mingling with the locals I stayed at the nice city hotel  Onyx Inn Hotel right off the road or Rodovia Anhaguera -SP-330 exit 295.  The hotel arriving at night was nice spacious friendly and a good restaurant for a bountiful breakfast. Leaving Cravinhos I drove by the bigger town of Ribeirão Preto , and had our meal on the restaurant Moinhos Grill , a churrasqueria where the meats are pile up on you without stop unless you ask ,and the drink of a cold beer was heavens on the road.  The main road we took by here is the sweeping nice road Anhanguera Highway (SP-330).  Very much make a stop on your way around here at Moinhos you will be delighted real food real people in country Sao Paulo State.

Ribeirão Preto has many theaters including a nice one Teatro Pedro II opera house named in honor of Emperor Dom Pedro II, dating from the 1920s, and natural parks such as the Japanese park as well. The town of Ribeirão Preto is very active nightlife in terms of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, etc. The city has several spaces dedicated to cultural events of music and theater. It is an important center of cinema in Brazil, with the Kaiser Cinema Studios with more than 13,000 square meters of built area, and which houses a large audiovisual production infrastructure, in addition to having the largest film club in the country,

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
