The town of Dozulé is located in the department 14 of Calvados in the Normandie region of my belle France, It is about 10 km from Dives-sur-Mer, Houlgate and Cabourg,, Wonderful monument here, sadly not much on it on site or in the web, Worth the detour me think,

The Church Notre-Dame de l’Assomption is from the 19C , At the time, it could not be completed due to lack of resources. In the 1990s, it was restored, thus completing the work. The old parish church of Dozulé was originally the chapel of the Château de Silly. It was located far from the current town where there is now a small chapel in the cemetery. In 1832, the inhabitants decided that this chapel, ready to fall into ruin, was too small to accommodate the entire population, and that it was too far from the town at about 1.5 km. It was decided to use all the materials from the old church and to launch a subscription. A request was made to the king, Louis-Philippe in 1834 for funds before starting the work. This was refused. Father Durand, the priest at the time, therefore encouraged his flock to put their hands in their pockets and set an example for them. He needed 10,000, he collected 20,000. Later, he collected another 64,000 francs. The work was decided in 1841 and the laying of the first stone took place in 1843. The last mass in the old church took place in 1846.

The Church Notre Dame de l’Assomption is located on the road D675,or Grande Rue in the city. The church was built according to an elongated plan, seven bays long. The bedside is semi-circular. A square bell tower is placed as a stool on the roof of the entrance facade to the north. The facade of the central vessel is also punctuated by buttresses topped with pinnacles. The portal is flanked by pinnacle buttresses and takes the form of a twin bay topped with a multi-lobed rose. Above, the elevation corresponds to the beginning of the bell towers with a multi-lobed rose. The clock is located below a quartet of louvered bays surrounded by a pointed arch. The roof line is embroidered with a balustrade. central nave has three levels; the first is composed of large broken arcades, the second is a blind gallery formed by a network of arcatures also broken, and the last level corresponds to large twin bays. This organization continues up to the choir. The aisles rise on one level, pierced with twin windows up to the ambulatory. The start of the vault is articulated at the level of the large windows. It is quadripartite on the ribbed arch as for the side aisles.
