The beach and ports of Fécamp !!

Again on my road warrior mode, we set out to new territories ! Well not per se but this time we were in town and saw many things which will share over the coming posts in my blog, We first came to Fécamp, and it was a blast !! We will be back for more for sure, eventually, As you know there is so much to see in my belle France, We parked by the Quai Berigny to walked into the beach and port of Fécamp, very nice walk indeed, Therefore, let me tell you about the beach and ports of wonderful Fécamp !!! Fécamp is located in the Seine-Maritime department 76 in the Normandy region of my belle France. A reminder…

The beach of Fécamp has nice great views,but just pebbles or galets not my liking difficult to walk, However, for the views and the ambiance is tops, Another nice turn to see in wonderful Fécamp.

Discover the various nautical activities to do on site: outing in old rigs, outing in a zodiac, sailing rental, kayak rental, paddle, windsurfing, flyboard, jet-ski, towed buoy, sea fishing…A view so far clear, for a permanent show… Just land on the pebbles and admire. just turn your head to the left to see the neighboring seaside towns. Another option, eat on thepebblesicecream,waffles,burgers.With its immense cliffs as a backdrop the highest in the Caux region Fécamp beach has managed to remain authentic. Parking is free in Fécamp. Another great argument in favor of its beach. However, collecting sand, pebbles or shells there as holiday souvenirs is a practice that weakens the coasts and is regulated by law with fines for offenders.

Something very familiar by now on the beaches of France, you will have a casino,and Fécamp is no different, right on the beach! The commercial port of Fécamp allows a tailor-made service, 6 days out of 7 in continuous day. The port has a capacity to handle 500,000 tonnes of traffic per year. On import, goods currently come from Scandinavian countries, the Baltic countries and Russia for wood, and from southern Europe and Africa for oil. Exports are mainly to Great Britain.

The fishing port extends over four quays, around the fish market built in 1987 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Fishing fleet: 2 large-scale fishing vessels; 10 coastal fishing vessels and 25 small-scale fishing vessels, Most fished species Herring, scallops, mackerel, sole, cod, cuttlefish.

On the right, local heritage: the coast of the Virgin, with the Chapel of Our Lady of Salvation. The Chapel of Our Lady of Salvation is a place of pilgrimage since the 13C, the current chapel retains Romanesque and Gothic elements. The roof of the nave was destroyed during a storm at the end of the 19C, and since that time this part of the building has been open to the sky. chapel located at the top of the upstream cliff, dedicated to sailors lost at sea. The chapel is venerated by the families of sailors and contains many ex-voto and model ships. The Heritage House ,16C residence, known as “Maison à la fleur de lys” then “Hôtel du grand cerf”. Since 2005, it has housed the municipal archives.

Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
