The Church Saint-Étienne is located at 2 Rue Saint-Etienne The first mentioned was in a charter of Duke Richard II in 1017-1025, but , it may be older. The reconstruction of the church was undertaken at the instigation of Antoine Bohier, abbot of Fécamp. In the 19C, the church became one of two parishes and work was undertaken, including the crossing tower which was never completed. The stained glass windows were done between 1882-1886,, You can see a series of fabrics mounted above the arcades of the nave, carved wooden altarpieces in the chapels, while the apse and the aisles are resplendent with numerous stained glass windows. The architectural elements that come to us from the Renaissance and the very beautiful 19C decoration make the Saint-Étienne Church a more than interesting religious monument and which should not be eclipsed by the abbey of the Trinity.

The south portal dates from the Renaissance period The flamboyant bell tower was built in the 19C. The tympanum of the Renaissance portal depicts the Stoning of Saint Stephen (St Etienne). The flamboyant neo-Gothic bell tower was built at the end of the 19C. The stained glass window of the Immaculate Conception is composed of three lancets to the glory of Mary. The one on the left represents Jean Duns Scotus. This Scottish monk was one of the first to defend the Immaculate Conception of Mary. In the middle one, the Virgin appears to Bernadette Soubirous (Sainte Bernadette /Lourdes) in 1858. The one on the right shows the appearance of Mary to Saint Anselm, Abbot of Le Bec and Archbishop of Canterbury: she asks him to promote the cult of the Immaculate Conception.

Who was St Etienne or St Stephen, to whom a number of cathedrals in France are dedicated, is presented as a proto-martyr. It is even the first of them. After the Resurrection, these want to devote themselves entirely to preaching, without occupying themselves with the material cares of worship. They gather their followers and ask them to choose seven men of good reputation who will take over this job. The first chosen was Stephen, since designated as archdeacon. Angered by the miracles he performed and his aplomb in discussions, the jews stoned him for blasphemy: Stephen had said that he saw the Heavens open and Jesus seated at the right hand of God. At this stoning, which took place on the very day of the Ascension attended the future apostle Paul, then a teenager, in charge of guarding the clothes of the executioners.
