I have written several posts on this town but feel missing some shots and finally today took the time to take these pictures as was passing by again, it is part of my normal routing to from home to Vannes, our capital City of the beautiful Morbihan and lovely region of Bretagne. The town is well known by all Sainte Anne d’Auray ,and all revolves around the Basilica minor of Sainte Anne. Let met tell you about something interesting me think just around the basilica, the Middle/High School Sainte Anne !! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
As I pass by here almost every day in my road warrior trips locally, it is a must to stop and glance at the basilica, However, there is a fine nice institution just around it that is top rated for those families seeking a Catholic education and more, The most important factor here is that it evolves around the Basilica of Sainte Anne and you know the traditional culture of the Bretons as said Sainte Anne is the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus Christ; patron Saint of Bretagne known by Breton as the grand-mère or grandmother.
The nice building passing by and finally some pictures of it is the Collége/Lycée Sainte Anne-or middle and high school St Anne ,located at the corner of 2 rue de Locmaria and rue de Vannes behind the Basilica Sainte Anne d’Auray in the town of Sainte Anne d’Auray, It is a Catholic education private high school institution depending on the Academy of Rennes.
A bit of history tell us that they open in 1885 with a complex started by priest Gabriel Deshayes in Auray with the participation of the Jesuit Brothers, In 1990 this minor seminary becomes the Collège Lycée Sainte Anne, and in 1995 it was merged of the Sainte Anne/Saint Louis high schools, Birth of the current school complex.
