My memories of Vinhedo !!!

The anecdote here was that due to a friend that lives here, I was able to visit the city and share some moment in his house with his family and eat out with the in laws family. Nice memories indeed of my road warrior ways in beautiful Brazil. I have written several blog posts on Brazil ,so search for more ok, This coming inland into Sao Paulo State, better known for the big city but here you feel the real people, the real country of Brazil. The town of Vinhedo is in the State of São Paulo. It is located in the mesoregion of Campinas, 75 km from São Paulo.  And the big beautiful country of Brazil !

I stayed in a hotel as my friend at the moment had his in laws visiting and well no space. I did went to eat with the whole family !! The hotel was the Plaza Hotel Vinhedo (see post),. The Plaza Hotel is located 5 minutes from the city center of Vinhedo and access to the highway is easy and fast. I walked there the moment i arrived and see the funny story that I found a resto that later recommended to my local friend!! He did an event there with 34 persons and all love the resto, so now I can say I am the culinary expert on the town lol!!! The last picture was from my room 212! The above anecdote was because of the Taverna do Chef Nico  Rua Pardais, 490 – Jardim Italia, Vinhedo. I ate very well, and great ambiance !! The waiters were nice. ! A great selection of excellent Italian meals!! Very good wine . There is a large table of good choices of salads, hot dishes, grilled meats. The story of the memorable moment is that I was visiting the city and had a friend there who was welcoming his daughter’s in laws so I was left to walk around alone at first. Feeling hungry and knowing the language decided to take a walk and find me a place to eat. There I came across this lively place and some it seems known regular customers so I settled in to eat. Later I told my friend what I did, and he weeks later decided to bring a group of local friends here as he had never been! And it turn out the friends agree it was a great place to eat. So I told my friend if need to know where to eat in his town to call me hehehehe !!! I still joke about it with him lol !!! The recipes prepared by the matriarch of the family of Angeli who are of Sicilian origins.

Nicoló Ferdico  born and studied in Palermo. The chef also commanded kitchens in the United States, where he lived for a few years. Its restaurant, the Taverna of Chef Nico,is one of the 60 restaurants with the seal Ospitalità Italiana of Brazil, and it’s also accredited by FIC – Brazil (Italian Federation of Cuochi) . The main Church of Santa Anna ,(see post) was built when the city was still called the Rocinha District and was dedicated to Sant’Anna, (Sainte Anne) who would become the city’s patron saint. In 1958 the current church was built in place of the previous one, with donations from its faithful for almost a decade.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
