We have come to Luxembourg several times over the years and is our favorite little country. It is so nice quant, clean, efficient, and just gave a good feeling from the first visit in 1991 and it has remained strong ever since. I have many nice memories of my dear late wife Martine ,and boys here. We were in our road warrior trips all over Luxembourg, and notice after the Hamm cemetery there was a museum to Gen Patton,one of the heroes of WWII in my opinion. We came to this wonderful small town of Grevenmacher, home of the sparkling wines of Bernard Massard. The company was created in 1921 by a Luxembourg Oenologist who learned his craft in Champagne, France named Jean Bernard-Massard. He led his project in the future by building his beautiful cellar of Grevenmacher on the banks of the Moselle river, these cellars produce sparkling wines in the Champenoise method. Going inland we reach Mersch is located in the Alzette valley a tributary of the Sûre river, the town is located at the confluence of the Mamer and Eisch rivers . The geographical center of Luxembourg is located on the territory of the town! We found and enjoyed shopping and eating at the Shopping Center Topaze located at Route de Colmar-Berg Here you can find more than 45 different brands on 2 floors .The Match supermarket The fitness center in upper floor . Free parking and gas/petro station very convinient. The stores we like were the Supermarché Match ,Pizza Hut, C&A , H&M ( now gone) , and Mano shoes. And of course, need to take you to the beautiful quant old City of Luxembourg Ville (the country is also name Luxembourg), We have been coming here for many years and even just to have lunch! One of our must stop is the Place d’Armes in city center of the upper town , Here we always search for the Pizza Hut and the Pepperoni Lovers pizza !!! And , of course wash down with the nice Mosel beers, Voilà a love at first sight, we came back even for lunch here and each time visiting the country we came by it for several years. The Grand Ducal Palace is a must to visit and I had the priviledge of visiting personally while on a business trip to encounter the Duchess Maria Teresa who is Cuban born as I, The castle is done in the renaissance style of the 16C and its the official residence of the Duke of Luxembourg ,chief of State since 1890. As we moved by car here always looking for the best places to park and this as far as City center, the best parking , The parking du Théâtre at the Place du Théâtre , It is a paying underground parking with 410 places, open 24h/24, Right around here the City has implemented the famous City beach of 350 m2 !
