In my nostalgic saga of my family visits to wonderful places in my belle France, we found one sublime City, Take your time to visit Rouen, it is sublime to say the least and of course , a must to visit, The gorgeous city in the Seine-Maritime dept 76 of the region of Normandie. We have come here often many times, and glad to finally be back again, this time from the Morbihan breton ! . I have my wonderful memories with family visits and even if we are fewer today, the memories lingered forever, I like to tell you about the foodie in Rouen !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I
Of course in any trip/Vacation/outing we need to eat and we to drink too ! In Rouen there was no exception, Especially ,when on a nostalgic trip we came on the footpath of my dear late wife Martine, We stayed in a different hotel and ate and different places but one very sentimental we had to had lunch, Let me expand on the additions of travel of your road warrior, yours truly, I will group all these pleasures in this post ok.
I took a look at all the familiar lodging sites and also check some properties directly, Behold, the best was found direct with the hotel site, It was very central, accept dogs and private parking and so be it we booked it directly, This is the Hotel 1er Consul of Rouen !

The parking was pretty steep and need to manouvre well the car, and a bit noisy at night as plenty of restos pubs on the street of rue Jean Lecanuet very close to the city hall and garden as well as abbey Saint Ouen (see posts) . The host was fantastic by email correspondance and on site marvelous, the best nice lady. We had a fifth floor room but had elevator/lift so no problems. Nice size bathroom, tub and shower, and double bed in addition to two single beds for us. Fresh air window overlooking the street, and some of the monuments mentioned. We had breakfast on departing day and it was plentyful and nice selection all you can eat for 11.90€. In all a pleasant stay that just for the welcome and the chat will be worth coming back.

We saw we had bars across the street, so we check out Bar Le Vintage, nice folks as well and plenty of drinks , they have planchas but here mostly for the drinkers in us, a nice pleasant evening overlooking our hotel and a busy street!! The Bar Le Vintage is a must-see bar in Rouen by many locals reviews.

The great Bar Le Vintage atmosphere, the attentive staff very kind, they know how to give very good advice. Come and enjoy the Le Vintage terrace for relaxation, and street views. This cocktail bar is known to be one of the best place to have an aperitif with friends while enjoying wonderful boards and tapas. We had the noisette saucisson (sausage) and platers of sweet potatos fries! Along new beers such as the Averbode Belgian abbey beer. Indeed nice ambiance.

As patronizing local merchants is our thing, we notice many but the local one and very near our hotel was the Fast Pizza small cozy place for take outs or deliveries. We ordered for take out our pizzas with plenty of cheeses and chorizo, merguez sausage etc, very nicely done and friendly service we like it. It was about 100 meters from our hotel very convenience to bring it hot.

First time try it, and was lucky to come across this Fast Pizza pizzeria. Very good pizza and friendly staff. Inexpensive pizzeria that offers very good pizzas. There are many choices based on tomato sauce or cream. The pizzas are good and have nothing to envy to the more famous brands. Indeed.

Walking on my nostalgic lane by the Place Saint Marc, when the famous market was not open but walking on it brought me many memories of my dear late wife Martine. On our way back, decided to dwell on the place and had a beer at the Brasserie Le Grand Saint Marc at 29 Rue Armand Carrel. Again, a find, nice folks ,lovely server and of course cold great Belgian beer Triplel Karmeliet (the glass says Victoria) . Great moment of thoughts and memories forever. We marched on in Rouen. Perle d’Asie at 2 Pl. de la République , Chinese, Japanese and Thai specialties in a subdued room with white tablecloths and an aquarium. For more than 10 years, Mr. and Mrs. Lin have had the pleasure of sharing their culture with many regulars but also with the curious. It was our top as my dear late wife Martine love it, and we came at least a couple times from Versailles, Once in the Morbihan we tried it but had sadly closed, Still this is the perfect post to have it in our memories forever, The best was the food with a great quality/price ratio and the floor was an aquarium !!! The new resto is a sushi Japanese cuisine.
