The most ancient caves of Jerez, founded in 1730, comprise patios, battlements and hallmarks mettant à l’honneur toute an artisan architecture representative of the region’s wine industry. I have visited the Bodega Alvaro Domecq but let me go a bit on the history I like.

In 1948, Domecq was established in Mexico by Pedro Domeq González and Antonio Ariza, who laid the foundations of the business in America and which led to the creation of the Presidente brandy brand in 1958. In 1994, it was acquired by the entity “Allied Lyons “, which renamed it  Allied Domecq and formed one of the largest multinational beverage companies. The Allied Domecq group was bought by the multinational Pernod Ricard in 2005. Since then the assets of the former Domecq have been sold separately. The brands and winery facilities of Fundador, Harveys and Terry as well as the vineyards in Jerez were sold to Beam global and these in turn transferred them to the Japanese group Suntory, In 2015, the Philippine group Emperador , acquired it
