My restaurants of Brussels !

Here I go again, looking at my vault, realise have brief mention of the restaurants we ate in Brussels but no pictures and not enough text. Therefore, credit where credit is due let me tell some of the restaurants in Brussels, we ate and not mention elsewhere in my blog with new pictures on the blog. All for the memories of always!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

We ate at great places some old to come back to a Pizza Hut at Romeinsesteenweg 950, in Wemmel near the Atomium brings a lot of memories from the time way back came as a young man with my dear late mother Gladys and dear late wife Martine. However, the one we visited the most at Bvd du Jardin Botanique 10 near the Jardin Botanique has closed.

We tried the Australian Home Made Ice Cream at Grand Place, Heuvelstraat 2. This was a hit by all and came back several times on one visit and again on another visit to Brussels. They do ice cream and shakes best and especially my boys love it !!!

We found this while walking the beat and it was a nice find. The steakhouse Brussels Grill Rue du Marché Aux Herbes 89 facing one entrance to the Galeries Royales St Hubert, and by Grand Place. Of course, you know it steakhouse! We have come back…

The Casa Nostra pizzeria at Rue du Marché aux Fromages 33 was good, and another spot where we decided to eat the norma pizzas we love all over the world. This is authentic as you can get in Brussels. It has signs as temporaly closed in some sites so check check as due to the pandemic several have close.

Le Grand Cafe, blvd Anspach 78, we had the house grand cafe menu, and it was fantastic. This is one of the luxe places in Brussels and worth the detour. The Café de la Bourse built in 1874 , was change over time and renamed Monico, it was finally renamed Le Grand Café as of today.  A landmark in Brussels.

The Cave du roy, Grand’place 14 itself with great people view, and brussel pork sausage or mussels in alsacien wine! This is another traditional resto in Brussels and worth the detour. Their webpage tell us that in the sheltered secular walls of our splendid 17C vaulted cellar, located in the basement of the Hermitage house built in 1698.  From the terrace of the Cave du Roy you have a direct view of the most beautiful theater of the world including the city/town hall and its 90 meters high tower, on the king’s house (maison du roi) and on the guild houses from late 17C. In 1903, the cellar of the Hermitage was fitted out for frying; this is where market gardeners and lower middle class people came to taste mussels and fries. Today, traditional Brussels cuisine has reigned supreme here for a century, against a backdrop of Brussels music and Carbonnades, Scampis à la blanche, Mussels à la faro, without forgetting our Stoemp… cooked in the old fashioned way. We love it !!

The once ever popular but nice Le Brasseurs de la Grand’Place, Rue au Beurre 42 for great beers and people watching at the Grand Place. Here for the memories of always as it is closed,no longer a webpage, sadly.

And sadly, this was our favorite of them all; the wonderful all time favorite , real Belgian ,always a stop at Chez Patrick a Rue des Chapeliers 6 . We have been coming for lunch for several years back then. Unfortunately did not survive the pandemic and is closed, Here for the memories of always.
