This is Sens !!!

And glad to found some old photos of Sens, the city by dept 89 ,the Yonne in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté! I was here with friends and then family. A very nice town for walks sightseeing the history and architecture of the duchy of Burgundy and kingdom of France. Therefore, this is my take on this is Sens !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

I have mention came here first with a group of French-American friends from Paris including an ancient history professor from the Univ of Paris IV way back in 2005. Later, believe around 2009 came in with the family. So much to see in my belle France, I need to recharge and do the tour again !!!

Sens is located about 100 km from Paris, and I have come here always by car. The Saint-Etienne Cathedral , or its true title as the Metropolitan and Primatial Cathedral Saint-Etienne of Sens, is the catholic cathedral of the archdiocese of Sens. Saint Etienne (St Stephen) is considered the first martyr: his cult is associated in Sens with that of Saint John the Baptist and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It should be remembered that Sens was then the metropolis of an important archdiocese made up of the dioceses of Paris, Meaux, Orléans, Troyes, Chartres, Auxerre and Nevers. The Maison d’Abraham  wooden house at 19, rue de la République is a half-timbered house from the 16C built for the tanner Nicolas Mégissier, also called the Maison des Quatre Vents. The Tree of Jesse carved on the corner post, representing the Virgin and eight kings of Israel. A wonderful thing to see while doing your great walks of Sens!

And last photo but not least is the wonderful Hôtel de Ville or city/town hall of Sens. Its dimensions are impressive with its bell tower culminating at 56 meters! For more than a century, it has housed the decision-making bodies of the city of Sens, and symbolizes the republican values to which local citizens are attached. Sens city/town hall celebrated its 116th anniversary in 2020! Who says city hall are dull!! Enjoy it

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
