The calle de Alcalà 331 of Madrid, part III !!!

We were back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see some new towns with my sons and our dog Rex ! I rented a small house in a off the beaten path country town that was just perfect ! I like to continue the saga of our new road warrior experiences even if now with less in our family,This post is on my latest road warrior tour of wonderful sublime back to Madrid, Therefore, let me tell you about the calle de Alcalà 331 of Madrid, part III  !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

This is Madrid capital of the province and community of Madrid as well as the kingdom of Spain, All central all comes and leaves from here in my dear Spain, A must to visit at least once in your lifetime or more once bitten with the bug as from Madrid to heaven and a hole in the sky to look down on it everyday ! Once again, thrill to be back to my Madrid and this year twice !! Love it !!! Only 202 km from our rental house in Velliza down on the A62, A6, and this time to the M500 and M30 to the Retiro park and our parking at Parking Avenida del Mediterraneo 28 near metro bus Conde de Casal and the Retiro park, From here back to Centro or old town to see more of my Madrid !

I have to come back here, its a must for me when near the City or in it, memories forever, The simple humble wonderful Plaza de Quintana, along Calle de Alcalà, by metro line 5 in the neighborhood of Quintana , and the district of Ciudad Lineal ! In this Plaza de Quintana, there still even if less on Sunday mornings a sort of market for the trading of stickers, coins, stamps and other more or less childish barter elements that has been meeting for over a quarter of a century.

My first entry and my first apartment or piso in Madrid , We lived in a modest apartment or piso at Calle de Alcalà 331, apartment 2do A , Bùzon 67,or mailbox, in Madrid 28027 zip code area. This is metro Quintana ,line 5 right there as you come up. The working class of real Madrid. Memories that will never go away even if in those early days of the 1970’s with my Mom Gladys,so poor had no camera no photos to show; it is all in my mind.

My Calle de Alcalà, neighborhood of Quintana, district of Ciudad Lineal, Madrid. The views from my old apartment looking first towards the Ventas Monumental arena and then towards the Plaza de Quintana. Memories forever !!

I would go to Elipa municipal park to play baseball for the Real Madrid CF organisation !! And later the alavin of football !! I would take the bus P13 that after the EMT transport in Madrid was created it became the line 113, still running today ! I still emotionally remember how my dear late mother Gladys took me to Victor Calzados, Calle de Alcalà 278 to buy me my first shoes in Spain at age 10 ! and the immense joy to have my 3 boys going there and buy them shoes as well , and as well with my dear late wife Martine, really a great feeling , And lucky to be there again on this trip and even if not purchase say hello to the staff and tell my story, they were in awe ! They have been 95 years in the spot and about 57 now doing shoes there !!!
