The Plaza de Castilla of Madrid !!!

I thought have told you about this wonderful off the beaten path of my dear Madrid briefly but thanks to a picture found in my cd rom vault that should be in my blog for you and me allows me to tell you more. This is a very important exchange spot for public transports and a nice underground parking with plenty to see around see posts, Therefore, here is my take on the Plaza de Castilla of Madrid !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The Plaza de Castilla is a transport interchange where lines 1, 9, and 10 of the Madrid Metro converge. It is located beneath the plaza of the same name, In addition to the metro station, it has an underground bus terminal and connections to numerous surface bus lines, making it one of Madrid’s major transport hubs. Since February 4, 1961, the Plaza de Castilla metro station has served as the terminus of line 1, situated beneath the intersection of Calle Bravo Murillo and Plaza de Castilla, less than 5 meters underground.

With the construction of the Kio Towers(see post), the termini of the intercity bus lines, previously scattered throughout Plaza de Castilla, were consolidated into an open-air terminal located between the two buildings, equipped with a cafeteria and ticket offices. This underground terminal was inaugurated on February 6, 2008. The underground interchange is located parallel to and beneath Avenida de Asturias, between Plaza de Castilla and Calle de las Magnolia, The lovely Plaza de Castilla  in the  Chamartin district.  The two towers that are located in Plaza de Castilla, and that make up the so-called Puerta de Europa (gates of Europe) , are commonly known as Torres Kio because they were promoted by the Kuwaiti company Kio (Kuwait Investments Office). The buildings are two inversely symmetrical towers inclined towards each other, 15 degrees with respect to the vertical one, and were the first inclined skyscrapers of the world. The skyscrapers have a height of 114 meters and twenty-six floors, and are visible several km away from Madrid From Plaza de Castilla you can see the tallest skyscrapers in Spain, which are located at the end of the Paseo de la Castellana. The complex is called the Cuatro Torres Business Area and it forms a business park built on the land of the former Real Madrid Sports City (where I used to play see post). The two tallest towers, about 250 meters high, are the so-called Torre Cepsa (45 floors) and the Torre de Cristal (52 floors). The others are Torre PWC (58 floors) and Torre Espacio (57 floors), with a height of about 230 meters. Next to it, the Caleido Tower, known as the Fifth Tower, open in 2021 by the king 180 meters and 35 floors.
