Looking at my blog, realise had these pictures mix in with other posts and they should a post of their own, for the memories of always. This allows me to show in my blog places even with older paper pictures. Nostalgia sets in and here I go on the curiosities of Brazil, part I !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The Igreja Nossa Senhora das Dores  or the Our Lady of Sorrows Church located in the city of Porto Alegre, State of Rio Grande do Sul. Located at Rua dos Andradas, 587. It is the oldest church in the city still standing. Its construction dragged on for a long time and the facade plan was modified while it was still under construction, showing today an eclectic style, but the interior is richly decorated with gilded carving in a late-Baroque style with neoclassical elements, in addition to having an important group of life-size baroque statues of Christ representing the cycle of the Passion The restoration work was completed in 2017, with the completion of the chancel. Ancient parietal paintings were discovered during the restoration.

The Parque Farroupilha or Farroupilha Park, better known as the Redenção Park or simply the Redenção, is the most traditional and popular park in Porto Alegre, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The place where the park is today was formerly called Varzea do Portão, a large marshy plain near the old gate of Vila de Porto Alegre. Of the park’s original 69 hectares, today 35.7 ha remain, with 45 monuments inside. On Sundays, the traditional Brique da Redenção is held in the park, with numerous stalls selling handicrafts, food and antiques. Parque Farroupilha is a place commonly holding popular demonstrations. My local friends took me here each time in the city sadly no time for more pictures.

And continue our journey south to Brazil , state of Minas Gerais and the City of Varghina and stayed at a wonderful hotel restaurant there! The hotel was the Hotel Café Royal right in city center near the University campus and much more lively.  This was a very nice hotel, good space rooms and good service as well as a great restaurant with glass windows views of the city.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
