We are back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see new areas and old repeat with some of them as introduction to my sons and our dog Rex ! I came into Tordesillas after several years and it was sublime ! I like to continue my road warrior stories this time in Tordesillas, Therefore, here is my take on the Plaza Mayor and restos of Tordesillas !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
The town of Tordesillas is located in the province of Valladolid and the autonomous community of Castilla y Léon in the kingdom of Spain, It is 33 km from Valladolid City , 11 km from our rental house in Velliza, and 183 km from Madrid, We walked all over the small town, and saw wonderful monuments. I like to keep them in my blog for the memories of always and return, eventually.
The Plaza Mayor,in its current structure dates from the 17C. It is a perfect square accessed by four streets. All is porticated and the two -story houses have stores on first level. The facades have large windows and balconies, especially designed to witness from them the holidays and shows. It is a typical Castilian square in which the City Council (City hall) is located.

The Plaza Mayor, which thus becomes the zero kilometer of this town. With a structure that remembers that of the Roman military fields (Castrum), all of it surrounded by two -story and supportal houses in its street level, it has a large number of windows and balconies that appear to its facades. These viewpoints are perfectly designed places to witness all kinds of public activities that are held here, such as medieval games, markets, concerts, comedies, bullfighting celebrations and all kinds of social meetings. The medieval market and the procession of the Painful moment during Holy Week is held here. This moment remember the moment in which Maria meets her resurrected Son.

Restaurante Nuestro Sitio (our place) Plaza Mayor 8 we had our lunch ! The premises have a cozy bar with tapas and rations surrounded by low tables, offering daily and weekend menus, with very good quality-price ,YES indeed! It has a terrace with 14 tables in the Plaza Mayor sublime!! Great service, fast and friendly talkative as we like and the prices omg superbe,We had rations of patatas bravas, huge tortilla, croquetas, Torrezno (fry bacon sort of) and Iberian ham all wash down with a bottle of Valdebodega of Ribera del Duero red ! All for 16,15€ per person !

I once drove through it but didn’t stop. Must have been in a rush. It seems that the most famous thing about Tordesillas is that there was a meeting here between Spain and Portugal in 1494 and a Treaty was signed which gave Brazil to Portugal and all the rest to Spain.
