The town of Tordesillas is located in the province of Valladolid and the autonomous community of Castilla y Léon in the kingdom of Spain. It is 33 km from Valladolid City , 11 km from our rental house in Velliza, and 183 km from Madrid, We walked all over the small town, and saw wonderful monuments. I like to keep them in my blog for the memories of always and return, eventually.

The Church Museum San Antolín is where a series of artistic pieces of the church itself and several others of the town are collected and exposed, among which the tomb of the Alderete stands out. Their nerfs are covered with crashed cruise vaults and ribs that rest on brackets in the form of angels. The most remarkable thing is the Alderete Chapel, which has a balance with flaming gothic -style pinnacles.  The museum was inaugurated in 1969, when it was decided to create a museum to collect and expose art pieces from other churches. At the beginning the museum subsisted with a provisional assembly until the date of the V Centenary of the Treaty of Tordesillas, in which it suffered an improvement in its installation and in the restoration and conservation of its pieces. The oldest part of the mid -16C corresponds to the head and the chapel of the Alderete family, which is attached to it. These two rooms are built in stone and their walls are topped by gothic flemish, gothic pinches and gothic pinnacles. It has a brick tower.

The church San Antolin was built between the 16C and 17C. In 1644 the work of the temple was completed. In 1712 the paintings of the choir were executed and during the 18C the tower consolidation works were enhanced. It has a single nerf with starry cruise vaults and edges with ornamentation of plasteries of the 17C. It has a baptistery, a pulpit, the Capilla de los Acevedo chapel low choir and high choir. Several altarpieces of interest are kept exposed. The main altarpiece is 1658, the goldsmith and liturgy pieces are also interesting. Paintings from the beginninf of the 16C and some sculpture of interest, The Capilla de los Alderete chapel was founded and built at the end of the 15C in its origin was considerable proportions until in the mid -16C some reforms were made closing the feet section that was destined for the sacristy. A tribune was also built for its owners to attend religious acts from it. A small turret that corresponds to the snail stairs that leaves the sacristy can be seen on the outside. The turret is auctioned with a chapitel and under this one opens a viewpoint to La Vega or the fields afar.
