This is deep Spain, in fact when visitors comes to Spain or hear about it, what they really see / hear isAndalucia. The most ancient caves of Jerez, founded in 1730, comprise patios, battlements and hallmarks putting high and loud the architecture and history so representative of this region, Written plenty on it just some notes to go along with the new photos in my blog,

The history of what is now Bodegas Álvaro Domecq S. L. dates back to 1850, the year in which Bodegas Pilar Aranda was founded, which for centuries established itself as one of the highest quality producers in Marco de Jerez. Pilar Aranda was the first female winemaker in Marco de Jerez and the first to be elected Honorary Foreman of the Harvest Festival. In 2007, they take a new step and joins Terreselecta, a company that prepares wines in the main Spanish wine areas.

The fino La Ina and oloroso Río Viejo brands, together with their soleras, were acquired by Lustau. Other brandy brands such as ‘Carlos I’, ‘Carlos III’ and ‘Felipe II’ as well as the four VORS wines, ‘Sibarita’, ‘Amontillado 51-1ª’, ‘Venerable’ and ‘Capuchino’ passed to the Osborne Group, while Pernod Ricard kept the “Pedro Domecq” brand, although without content. In 2016, a joint venture formed by González Byass and Grupo Emperador acquired the “Domecq” and “Pedro Domecq” brands, as well as the brandy business of these brands based in Mexico. Since then the group has made a strong commitment to the winery, opening a gastrobar, undertaking repair works on the Riquelme Tower and robotizing production, among others.
