We travel and tell other about the wonderful finds we see and enjoy over time, However, I ,notice most do not write about their homes or places lived, not me, I am appreciative of all I have learned from the places I lived and help me grow as a person, One of this important places was Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, State of New Jersey, USA, I like to tell you a personal story, Hope you enjoy it as I

I came as a boy around the world, America, Europe, back to America, and again back to Europe, I came finally into freedom after avoiding communism and fascism into the United States. I was 13,5 years old arriving in unknown town of Perth Amboy !!! It was a mix community of many nations and religions all living in peace, In my high school football/soccer team we were from 27 countries, 13 different languages and 4 major religions of our world, It helped shape my life later on, and still does today,

My parents decided to go into small businesses and that entails work harder and help more, The early life was working very hard ,helping my parents who had branch out into a grocery store for my Mom ,she call it Gladys as her name, a men’s clothing store for my Dad Elio,he called it by our last name, a night club restaurant,my Dad called it Habana-San Juan, and miscellaneous delivery services from NYC all over NJ and into Philadelphia.

We really had no time off, working to 9pm (21h) each day 7 days a week in some of the stores, and switching amongst all of us, I would help out when back from school and soccer/football playing and even while at the University in Daytona Beach, Florida (see posts) summers and Christmas breaks went back to help my parents, As hard working immigrants, it was a period of learning English, and new rules, laws, and way of living ,adjusting to the American work ethics that so much carry on in my life today.

Looking back was a precious moment in my life with lots of learning and proud of the accomplishement by my parents and I, Today, Mom Gladys and Dad Elio had passed away but still with me in spirit of goodness and hard work, They can rest in peace, Their ashes as wanted were spread in the waters off Honfleur, Calvados, Normandie of my belle France, Always in my mind and heart, I told you this would be a personal post,
