I need to bring up older posts of a simple memorable place for my family in France, As said, this is my personal life ,all in the blog and Paris is a big part of it. The memories of family and Paris are huge and even if written before on these places, a personal touch is better, I have put together various writings on Pizza Pino into one post, This was one of my first experiences of eating out in Paris and it was a staple over the years, Sadly, they have closed but remains fully in my heart and mind, Therefore, here is my take on the former Pizza Pino Restaurants of Paris !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.
Upon arriving in Versailles and working in Paris, I came to meet the Franco-American community here which was great and a wonderful cross over to real life as a Frenchman, The Franco-American community in Paris for several years held their lunches here at Pizza Pino, Do not know why until ask and was given a classic answer, good food, reasonably price and love by all, so it went on for several years. The pizzerias are very popular and found in several locations in Paris. They have been around since 1968,
My initial encounter with Pizza Pino was on lunch get together at 57 bd de Montparnasse, near the Gare Montparnasse train station The pizza dough is not frozen. Every morning it’s the same ritual for the pizza maker: he shapes it, prepares it, makes it. This is also the obligation of freshness. Parisians will rediscover or discover the pleasure of eating a pizza on fresh dough and cooked in a wood-fired oven.Sublime! Sadly this location has ,also ,closed!

There is another at the popular Place de la République. No 4 ,where I had my first night dinner at Pizza Pino. There I had my Palerme chorizo pizza with a nice quart (1/4 bottle) of rosé Luberon region wine and the café plaisir , sort of coffee and sweets in one plate. Nice, the whole family enjoy it and still remembered, This spot was the former Brasserie Le Thermomètre.

The other location we enjoyed was at the Pizza Pino, 31-33, Avenue des Champs-Elysées I used to drive and stop for lunch or dinner with the family here taking advantange of the shopping on the big avenue, They were at this location for 65 years !!! However, this location has closed, sadly , I have just found out the Pizza Pino location at 27 Bd des Italiens, near Opéra has closed as well !!

I need to post some history for the memories of always, The idea of Pizza Pino owes everything to Max and André Sfez, who arrived in France in 1958 and who opened in the Saint-Michel district of Paris, the first of its kind. The company was taken over in 1998 by Astorg, an investment fund of the Suez bank. Holding 75% of the capital, for 7 restaurants; which later was taken over by businessman Lucien Urano, He had been looking for several months to participate in the takeover of his former company. However, efforts to be purchase by the Groupe Bertrand (owners of several franchises) failed and eventually the company closed, Some of the emblematic spots outside of Paris were at place Bellecour Lyon, now location taken over by the Bertrand group. In Toulouse, at Place Wilson, the restaurant gave way to another Italian restaurant chain, Pizza Volfoni, The Pizza Pino was frequented by famous people as well such as tennis players Pete Sampras and Yevgeny Kafelnikov and athlete Sergey Bubka, as well as actors like Francis Huster,
