Again by my sublime dear Madrid !! The gastronomy is one of the highlights of my visit always and we love it !! So many to choose from , but we come back to our usual places, memories oblige!. As I was back again to my dear Madrid will share my more recent culinary adventures with you all. Most of course, repeats, but there is some new ones to join the list, Let me tell you again on my restaurants of Madrid, part II !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The magnificent historical grand Chocolateria San Ginés!  This is an institution in Madrid!! since 1898,  I have many souvenirs of this place coming with my dear late mom Gladys and then my dear late Dad Elio and my dear late wife Martine, and my boys and family and friends all taken here. For me is more than just a churros and chocolate place. I came as a teen ,first to teatro Eslava (now joy eslava) to do community dances for youths, and while leaving late, we hop over to San Ginés to recompose the body and soul; it was a ritual of younger years even before the movida !!! San Gines was more familiar then, nice talks great fun, It has become very touristic lately ,but for me still a nostalgic spot that need to come and try those churros with chocolates again. I have come here each time in Madrid since 1970 , with some years of absent has been pretty consistant, and came back again last week July 2023, The chocolateria San Ginés is a must when in Madrid.

The origin of Horchata, comes from the city of Alboraya, in the Comunidad de Valencia. It is a typical sweet drink that is usually accompanied by fartons that regulars like to eat by soaking them before in the horchata. It is the tigernut or chufa as we call it in Spain, very popular and we love it each time there. Very refreshing in Summers. The best is Horchatería Alboraya. Two addresses in Madrid: Calle de Alcalá, 125 (where we tasted right off metro Principe de Vergara metro lines 2 and 9) and Avenida Felipe II, 26 (where we saw it too). The tradition of this place begins with the grandparents, who cultivated their first tigernut in Alboraya in 1960. Then, the next generation founded the first Alboraya tiger nut milk factory in Madrid This is great just where I grew up not far really, not far from Retiro Park on the famous Calle de Alcalà (mine!) and a family tradition at its best. We of course try the horchata and ice creams of mango, pineapple and dulce leche !! Glorious !!
