And I bring you back to a sentimental region of my beloved Spain. This is Castilla La Mancha in the kingdom of Spain. We rode and walked all over there , and even took the bus ! There are several posts on the Las Majadas/Cuenca area , I will never be tired of writing about it in my blog. From our first visit there in 2016, we had the feeling it was our best vacation ever ,not only because the location was great, the house fanstastic with all the trimming ,and the price right, but the host Luis and Maria Isabel were fantastic beyond the call of duty to make our stay a wonderful one full of great memories and even friendship. You will do well to rent from them in the future as we will definitively look forward to another opportunity, eventually.

The plaza Mayor of Cuenca is the meeting place and communication hub between the various routes in the old part of the city. The Cathedral, the City Hall building and the Convent of San Pedro dominate the landscape. From the Plaza Mayor part of the Calle Pilares, which leads us to the Ermita de las Angustias, the Calle San Pedro and Ronda de Julían de Romero, which lead to the Castle, the Canónigos and Calle Clavel to the Casas Colgadas (hanging houses) and the Puente de San Pablo (bridge of Saint Paul).

We have plenty of memories on the old ruined castle of Cuenca.  The castle is located at the top of the city, between the two gorges, and what remains of it is just two cubic constructions, remnants of the walls ,and the Bezudo Arch which retains a shield with fleece. Beautiful views from here !!

And in our dear Las Majadas of many family memories we walk around and visit the nice old  Iglesia Senora del Sagrario (Church Notre Dame of the Tabernacle) ;memories forever,

The Hostal Restaurant Palacios of Toledo!! The magic lunch menu price has been kept from 7,50€ to 7,95€ over the years and always fully loaded with entrée, main dish, dessert, drink of juice sodas/wines/beers and coffee! It changes every time often. The food is terrific and the place very quant with very nice people we have come to know, they even remember us!!  located in Calle Alfonso X the Wise corner with Calle Navarro Ledesma. The Alcázar of Toledo is a 16C fortress of rectangular form placed in the highest part of the city with a large central esplanade and four towers at four angles, with granite walls, and which apparently was the seat of the Roman protectorate of the city, and later a Visigoth Palace 6C , then an Arab fortress in the 8C. In October 1998 it became the headquarters of the Library of Castilla-La Mancha (Biblioteca ) to our days, and from July 2010 is home to the Army Museum moved from the former Salon de los Reinos of Madrid.

Toledo is swords ,the best of Spain and I say Europe at least, My boys came looking for them and found good ones at the store Artesania Juan Carlos Diaz and the saga of the Lords of the ring, Wonderful experience they came back again for more in later years,  Their store was at Calle Comercio 28. The Manchego cheese is one of the most famous in Spain and in all of Europe factory SAT Rio Mayor at Caracenilla just outside Huete where we had the El Ermita brand first from the supermarket before and we went to the factory on site, very good black label=etiqueta negra. webpage: https://quesoslaermitadecaracenilla.com/

 There was a pepino de Huete festival we got on it in August, and we had a blast with the cucumber tasting and local white wines, on a market festive ambiance. The Dia del Pepino or Cucumber Day is done in early August before the 15, It is a day that Huete dedicates it to one of his highest quality products, Huete’s Cucumber. A day full of activities: a market is held, as is traditional, preferentially dedicated to Cucumber from Huete, in which other crops from its gardens will also be marketed. Also, a gastronomic recipe contest is held in which the Cucumber from Huete is the main ingredient. And even special activities for children.
