We were back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see new areas and old repeat with some of them as introduction to my sons and our dog Rex ! I rented a small house in a off the beaten path country town that was just perfect ! The town of Olmedo is in the province of Valladolid in the autonomous community of Castilla Y-León in the kingdom of Spain, The city is a Mudejare architectural home. It is 60 km from my home base of Velliza, on the A6 and CL 602 roads, and 42 km from Valladolid ,and 147 km from Madrid, We were in town and parked by parking Plaza Mayor, superbe.

The Palacio de los Caballeros de Olmedo is locate at the.Plaza San Julián, 3, The palace will immerse you fully in history. A playful, sensory and emotional experience through Castilla, Olmedo and the Golden Age, by the hand of Lope de Vega, opening the door to one of the summits of the theater: the Caballero de Olmedo or the knight’s of Olmedo. A unique and unprecedented museum, which offers the visitor the possibility of living, in the first person, the adventure of knowledge. A time trip that, through the use of avant -garde exhibition techniques, allows us to witness history.

The Palacio del Caballero de Olmedo or Knight’s Palace is the old mansion of the Counts of Bornos. This impressive Mudejar building of the 16C houses, since its restoration a sample dedicated in general to the classical theater of our Golden Age, and in particular to one of its culminating works, the “Caballero de Olmedo”, by Lope de Vega. The museum is unique. It introduces you to the work and time with modern exhibition techniques, projections and scenographies. They start approximately every thirty minutes. Lope de Vega himself goes out to meet us to put ourselves in a situation. While waiting for the beginning of the pass, you can visit the characters room. After the inner visit of the palace you get to the backyard. An open splaced. In the backyard, it houses a recreation of a “Corral de Comedias” a comedies space that reminds the old pens. For their disposition, in these comedies pens, the spectators felt almost participants in the scenes represented. It has a very original background, the old Wall of Olmedo. Since 2006, all summers are celebrated, festivals dedicated to the classical theater of the Spanish Golden Age.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
