We were back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see new areas and old repeat with some of them as introduction to my sons and our dog Rex ! I rented a small house in a off the beaten path country town that was just perfect ! Another huge task by yours truly but worth it, me think. This is a much newer university in Salamanca but very well regarded by all and serious learning. I enjoy the history, architecture and sights while in my warrior walks in the city.

In 1940, Pope Pius XII founded the Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA) as continuation of the ancient theology studies. Clerecía is currently the seat of the Pontifical University. It began to be built in 1617 and it ended a century and a half later as a Royal College of the Holy Spirit, of the Company of Jesus. It is baroque style. The school differs, with an interesting cloister, and the church, with an impressive facade of three bodies, two twin towers 50 meters high and a huge dome. The name of Clerecía is due to the fact that it belonged to the Royal Clerecía of San Marcos after the expulsion of the Jesuits, The Pontifical University of Salamanca Clerecía is located at Calle de la Compañía, 5

The Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA) is of a private nature. The 19C liberal governments made studies of theology and canon law excluded from the University of Salamanca. Pope Pius XII created, in 1940, a new university to restore these two faculties, in the same city, and confers the category of Pontifical University,

Thus, although the current Pontifical University of Salamanca emerges 75 years ago, it is intended to be the continuation of the old ecclesiastical faculties of the University of Salamanca. The bull of Pope Alejandro IV of April 1255 confirms the general study of Salamanca created by Alfonso IX de León in 1218. The same pontiff, in the Bula Dignum Arbitramur of September 22 of the same year, grants universal validity (except in Paris and Bologna) to the grades granted by Salamanca in Quacumque Facultate. that give its international character to the University of Salamanca. Since 1254 there were in Salamanca canons and laws. In the 14C, the future Pope Benedict XIII (Pedro de Luna) founded the Faculty of Theology. The ecclesiastical faculties, theology and canons had a strong boom in the 16C and 17C.

The Pontifical University, at its headquarters in Salamanca,(also a campus in Madrid), offers the following official degrees: Bachelor’s degrees: Canon Law, Philosophy and Theology. Degrees: administration and management of technological companies; Physical activity and sports sciences, audiovisual communication, social education, nursing, computer engineering, speech therapy, teacher in early childhood education, teacher in primary education, marketing and communication, pedagogy, journalism, psychology, advertising and public relations. In addition to the degrees , the Pontifical University of Salamanca offers postgraduate titles, doctorates, Language courses and DECA courses (Ecclesiastical Declaration of Academic Competence), a requirement required by the Spanish Episcopal Conference to exercise as a professor of Catholic religion. The Higher Institute of Family Sciences offers a university master’s degree in family orientation and mediation in addition to other courses and titles,

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
