Again, in my saga searching , found me a nostalgic picture in my cd rom vault that should be in my blog for you and me. I take you over to the wonderful Lisbon, Portugal ! One more trip, the opportunity is always there, Have to say know the country well, speak the language and my oldest son godfather is from Faro.Therefore, here is my take on the elevador Santa Justa of Lisbon !!!  Hope you enjoy it as I

The Santa Justa Elevator, aka Carmo Elevator, is a public transport system located in the city center of Lisbon, in the district of Santa Justa. It connects Rua do Ouro and Rua do Carmo to Largo do Carmo and is one of the most interesting monuments in downtown Lisbon. The elevator’s structure is made of cast iron, and uses a scheme inspired by the neo-Gothic style.

The Santa Justa Elevator consists of a metal tower with two cabins, and a 25 m long metal walkway connecting the upper floor to the Carmo area. The difference between the elevator levels is 45 meters. The top of the tower, accessed by a narrow spiral staircase, offers splendid views of Rossio Square, downtown Lisbon, São Jorge Castle on the opposite hill, the Tagus River, and the ruins of the Carmo Convent Church. It connects Rua do Ouro to Largo do Carmo, thus uniting the upper and lower areas of the city.

This elevator was planned since the 1890s, but the project was only approved by the Lisbon City Council in 1900, when construction began. The elevator was inaugurated in 1902. The ticket office is located behind the tower, under the steps on Rua do Carmo. Passengers can ascend or descend the elevator inside two elegant wooden cabins with brass fittings.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
