The pictures were found in my cd rom vault and should be in my blog for you and me, The city has been called the Little Paris, and even the Paris of the East, I like to show you a place I passed by several times and even went to get friends at the train station. Many memories and good friends over the years. Always looking forward to be back, eventually, Therefore, let me tell you a bit on the Arcul de Triumf of Bucharest !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
The Arcul de Triumf or Arch of Triumph is located in Sector 1 of Bucharest, It stands on the square of the same name, crossed by the Kiseleff Causeway, next to Herastrau Park and not far from Charles de Gaulle Square, to which it is connected by Marshal Constantin Prezan Boulevard. Standing 27 meters high, the interior stairs leading to the terrace of the monument, where visitors can enjoy a unique view. it was built on foundations measuring 25 meters by 11.50 meters. Sculptures by famous Romanian artists adorn the facades. The monument can usually be visited around December 1st, as part of National Day celebrations.

In 1878, one month after the country gained independence, the first wooden triumphal arch was quickly erected to parade the victorious troops. After WWI, another temporary arch succeeded it on the same site in 1922. The inauguration took place on December 1st, 1936, and the event was one of the rare moments when Queen Mary appeared in public with her son, King Carol II. The Arch of Triumph is a historical landmark of Bucharest and a symbol of the city.
The monument reminds passers-by of the victory of the Romanian Army in WWI and of the Great Union of 1918, one of the most important events in Romania’s history. Built according to the French model, Every year, on December 1st, when Romanians celebrate their National Day, the Arch of Triumph is the main stage for the military parade organized in Bucharest.
